Epilogue

"Vexen, are you sure about this?!"

"Of course I'm sure! This one will be different. This one will succeed."

"That is what you said about all the other ones."

"Be quite you big brute! I'm sure this one will work. I'm positive. I've been working on her for weeks."

"Her, Vexen?"

"Yes, her. Don't you listen? It's going to be a she. "

"But why a she?"

"Idiot! Don't you see, all of the failed ones are male. So this one must be female in order for it to work. Logic, Zexion. You simply have to balance out the options with the data you've collected so far."

"I see. What will you call her?"

"Hm. I'm not quite sure. We'll let Marluxia deal with that."

"You're going to leave it with Marluxia?"

"Her, Zexion, Her. And yes. If she does in fact fail I don't want her destroying my lab. Might as well have her go awol on the enemy."

"But Vexen, they aren't our enem-"

"HUSH. Hush, Zexion. Just wait."

"For what?"

"Ah, Lexaeus, now me must wait for her to be ready. Then, when she awakens, she will create a fantastic legacy."

"And if she does turn on us?"

"We let her loose in the castle, she'll eventually die."

"That's horrible."

"That, my dear Zexion, is science."
