Baby Boy Meets World
Joshua nervously stepped into the classroom on his first day of kindergarten. He was not sure what to expect. He had been told by his big sister that it was a breeze and with Mr. Feeny being the principal he would be fine. He sat down in a seat quietly hoping Morgan was right. In the midst of his thinking he felt a flick on the back of his head. Joshua turned around exclaiming, "Hey! What was that for?"
The other boy explained, "I dunno, felt like it."
Joshua made a face of disapproval and turned back around.
The other boy continued, "I'm Nick, what's your name?"
Joshua turned back around and responded, "I'm Joshua."
Right then the teacher walked in to the classroom and began to talk to the young students about the year and what they would be doing. After some arts and crafts and a little bit of math, it was time for recess.
Joshua walked outside and tried to figure out what to do with himself. Just then, the boy Nick walked over to him. "Wanna play on the slide?" he asked Joshua.
Joshua turned and said, "Sure."
The two boys walked over to the slide and began to play.
Nick began, "You know what would make this slide better?"
"What?" asked Joshua.
"If it was faster," he explained.
"How can we do that?" asked Joshua.
"Put water on it," continued Nick.
"Where can we get water?"
"I saw a hose over there," pointed Nick.
"Let's go get it," said Joshua.
So the boys went over to the side of the building and began to bring the hose around. They set up the hose so the water would go down the slide. But, before they could carry out their crazy plan, their teacher came over and asked, "What are you boys doing?"
They explained "We wanted to make the slide faster."
She didn't seem to agree that the slide needed to be faster and said, "You boys can't do that. Let's go! In the building!"
She led them over to the principal's office and sat them down outside. She went in for a few minutes. When she came out she sent the two boys in.
As they sat down, Mr. Feeny turned around and said, "Well Mr. Mathews, I must say, each day you become more and more like your brother. And let me guess, this is your best friend…"
