Prologue

Hey, Frankie's got me fallin' apart
Oh, Draculaura's stealin' my heart
Clawdeen Wolf, you make me howl at the moon
Lagoona, you're the finest fish in this lagoon
Cleo De Nile, you so beguile
Even though you act so vile (uh huh)
And Deuce has stone-cold style
These are my boos, my skeleton crew
A little strange, but so are you
Don't you wanna be a monster, too?

Draculaura's party was just around the corner and everyone was absolutely excited about the party. Everyone knew that it was going to be off the fang. Cleo and Clawdeen giggled and whispered as they put the finishing touches on Draculaura's birthday party. "This party is going to be fur-riffic!" Clawdeen grinned happily as she and Cleo walked on to class.

Clawdeen sat between Frankie and Draculaura. "Are you ghouls ready for the big birthday bash on Friday?" She asked looking from one girl to the other. "I absolutely cannot wait for the party. I even have my gift picked out and wrapped. It's going to be voltageous." Frankie smiled happily, a sparkle in her eyes. "I am so excited. It is going to be fang-tastic. Clawd said he picked out that perfect present for me too." Draculaura smiled, her eyes holding a loving glow.

Clawdeen smiled. She loved how happy her brother was and how happy he made her very best ghoulfriend. "Are you bringing a date, Frankie?" Clawdeen asked sweetly as she set her iCoffin on her desk. "Well, I was planning on asking Holt." Frankie said as her face flushed a red shade. "Not Neighthan?" Draculaura asked looking up from her iCoffin. Frankie sighed softly and shook her head as she dropped her head into her hands. "Ghoul, what happened?" Clawdeen asked placing a hand on her shoulder. "Well, after me getting stranded on that island with the weird lab last year…well, he and I just…" Frankie stumbled over her words. It was hard for her to say that it was jealously that drove them apart.

Draculaura reached over the desk and placed her perfectly manicured hand on top of Frankie's. "Sweetie, just tell us. We are your ghoulfriends and we are here for you." She gave a reassuring smile as Frankie looked up. "Well, you know last year that Holt, Jackson and I got trapped on that island with the strange lab. The three of us spent three weeks trapped there and in the end it kinda split Neighthan and I up. I'm not mad at him or anything and no one should be. Holt and I have always had a good relationship, I guess that is enough to make anyone jealous." Frankie said with a soft sigh. "Well, you know ghoul he does call you Frankie Fine and seems to be flirty with you. That aside, you and Neighthan broke up over Holt?" Clawdeen place her chin in her palm and looked at Frankie.

The bell rang for class to officially start and Frankie hid her relief. She still cared for Neighthan, but they had fought so much over the bits of jealousy enough that they agreed it would be better if they were not together anymore. The two still spoke a lot through texts and coffee at the Coffin Bean. Frankie had given them both a year before she had made the decision to start seeing someone else.

After class ended Frankie made a mad dash for the door. She didn't like not being able to talk about guys with her ghouls, but she didn't want them to hate either one of them for a decision that they made together. Frankie saw Holt and grinned happily. Suddenly she felt a sudden rush of nervousness. She took that moment to go to the one person who could help her and would not judge her on the matters of the heart.
