Caroline is on the balcony of the apartment she is celebrating the new year in which looks out on all of Paris and has a great view of the Effie tower. Klaus comes up behind her and kisses her neck and gives her a glass of champagne. " Did you have a good year my love?"
" I did I finally saw what was right in front of me. You always loved me and I always loved you too."
Klaus smiles into her neck he will always remember the day Caroline told him she's ready to be with him.
9.
Six months ago:
Klaus is painting when Freya comes in and tells him he has visitor in the living room. He thinks nothing of it and dries his hands and leaves. When he gets to the living room and sees the back of Caroline looking at the paintings of him, Elijah, Rebekah and Kol from the 1900's he doesn't know what to think. Caroline could always tell when Klaus was near her she turns around to face him. " I'm done fighting my feelings and living a lie. I want to be with you and to be loved by you, be your love and be your forever."
He vamps over her in a second and wraps his arms around her, picks her up and kisses her. " You don't know long I've waited to hear you say that."
Caroline smiles down at him and plays with the curls at the top of his neck " I take it you want the same thing."
Klaus kisses her again this is the best day of his entire life.

Present:
" Did you have a good year Nik?"

Klaus has his head on Caroline's shoulder looking out on the view of Paris. " Yes the woman I am madly in love with finally accept my proposal and loves me back."

Caroline puts her champagne glass on the table and puts Klaus glass with hers and turns around to face him. " The only regret I have is I didn't accept it sooner. Sorry it took fifty years."

" I told you I would wait for you however long it took. Fifty years or five hundred years I would rather live with the promise of a life without you than a life without you in it."

Caroline leans up and kisses him " I've thought about the promises you made to me everyday for the last fifty years."

" We have all of eternity for all the promises and even more promises."

She turns back around and he slides his arms around her waist and his chin on her shoulder.

Fireworks start going off around the Effie tower. Klaus leaves a small kiss right below her ear " Happy new year my love."
Caroline turns around and kisses him " Happy new year Nik."
" I love you."
" I love you too."
