"I have to help them."
"I have to help them."
"I have to help them."
"I have to help them."
"PLEASE, I HAVE TO HELP THEM!"
A man banged on the door of his padded cell. White, squishy walls surrounded him all over with only a single light hanging from the center of the ceiling. His face was red as he screamed loudly into a void which seemingly was all around him.
A thick brown beard with little hairs of white grew on his face, ending just below his nose. A balding patch dead center on the top of his head while tuffs of brown were grown near his ears, the back of his head, and his sideburns grew unruly.
A long scar accompanied his red face, running vertically from his dimpled chin, across his chapped and nearly bleeding lips, to his nose. It was a thick, unattractive cut that the morning orderly made it a point to keep their eyes glued to his only.
The man continuously banged on the door, his rugged hands turning a light shade of pink with each slam.
"MY FAMILY! PLEASE!" He cried out desperately before sliding onto the floor, sobbing hysterically as tears rushed down his cheeks, "LET ME HELP THEM!"
Outside his room, watching him break down, was two nicely dressed doctors. One was a white male, his blonde hair slicked back neatly, he pushed his glasses back into place before shoving his hands into the pockets of his lab coat. His name tag read 'Dr. Hale'.
The other one was an African-American, whose body frame was much smaller than Hale's much larger one. He was bald and wore a silver necklace with a cross on the end that stood out against his tanned skin. His name tag read, 'Dr. Daniels'.
Daniels glanced at the door with a disturbed grimace before looking back down at a single sheet of paper in his hands. Unlike him, Hale looked greatly annoyed at the door with a brow raised.
"Uh, is this Mr. Lynn Loud Sr?" Daniels looked away from the paper and focused on the door that held the screaming man behind it. It was a shrill noise that sent shivers down his spine. The scream thick with pain Daniels easily sensed and felt his heart clench in response.
"Yeah, it is." Hale sighed and shook his head, he slowly started to pace in front of the door with his arms crossed.
Daniels looked at Hale weirdly and turned to him, having trouble ignoring the screaming, he still did his best to.
"And what did he do?"
Hale stopped pacing as he looked up at Daniels, he walked over to Lynn's door and laid a hand on it. His featured somewhat calm but the eyes behind his glasses held a rage that surprised his fellow co-worker.
"This man single-handedly murdered his half of his own family and blamed it on 'the man with the red eyes'," Hale put air quotes in the last part of his sentence as he spoke with a venomous tone, "Killed his wife, and six of his kids out of 11."
Shocked with the information given to him, Daniels gasped as he took another look at the paper in his hands. Skimming towards a short list of names with another listen of ages next to them. The first on it,
RITA LOUD - 47
"Rita Loud. His wife I'm assuming?"
Hale's nodded quietly as he stared at the door with a disgusted scowl. The screaming had died down and was replaced with loud, heavy panting.
"A sweet woman as friends and family members described her. She was the more hardworking of the relationship and held a really deep love of the bastard apparently," Hale looked through the very small plastic window on the door and watch Lynn curl into a ball on the floor.
"Stabbed her in the neck with a ballpoint pen," Hale said loud enough for Lynn to hear through the thick door. A little harsh, Daniels thought but made no move to stop him.
"Lynn… Honey?" The blonde woman called out as she opened the door to her and her husband's bedroom, he sat slouched on the chair in front of her big mirror. She could see his worn out face and the dark bags under his eyes. The only lighting in the room sourced from a small lamp on the same desk that held the mirror up.
Lynn Sr. was usually jolly, always up for shopping and cooking for his family. But today he wasn't seen by anyone until now, which worried Rita. He hadn't told her if something was bugging him and he mostly did.
She slipped inside the darkish room and was immediately overcame with a heavy sadness. She was taken back for a moment before shaking it off and slowly walking towards her husband.
He started to twitch slightly, his hand reaching into a tiny drawer of the desk and staying there for a moment before withdrawing and falling into his lap once more.
Rita, finally reaching her husband and standing directly behind him, laid her hands onto his shoulders. Giving them a light squeeze, she watched as his head snapped up to face forward. A shadow covered his face so she couldn't see his eyes in the mirror.
"B-Babe? Are you okay?" Rita whispered I'm a shaky voice. Her nerves jumping as she felt herself become frightened by Lynn's behavior.
After a few slow and painfully quiet moments, Rita felt herself being pushed back forcefully as Lynn shot from his seat and whipped around, his arm thrust out towards her. An object clutched in his hand and his large eyes finally visible by the dim light of the lamp.
She screamed as his hand came in contact with her neck, a sharp point tearing through her flesh and into her throat. The tip of the object crashing into, then cracking through her windpipe.
Her hands shot to hold onto Lynn's arm as it shook violently, still holding tightly onto the object she still couldn't see.
Looking into his eyes, she saw an emptiness that made her weak in the knees. A darkness that made her sad. An evilness that killed her.
Lynn smiled widely as he felt the blood fly out of his wife's neck from impact and splash on his face.
'Kill her. Kill her. Kill her.'
Tugging on the pen he stuck in her throat, he placed his other hand on her forehead and gave it a rough shove to yank the pen out. His hand covered in the sticky red liquid that freely flowed out of the hole in Rita's neck.
He watched as she gripped it, trying to stop the blood flow and cry out. But she failed to do so, instead, she continued to fall to the floor and look at her husband as her vision began to fade away.
On her knees now, Rita gave Lynn a last glance with wide eyes that basically asked, 'Why?'
Lynn lifted a foot and shoved it into her face to make her fall back. Having her lay on the floor as death overcame her.
All was quiet as a satisfied feeling started to settle deep in Lynn's gut. The floor underneath his now dead wife soaked red with blood, and her eyes still open wide looking up at the roof.
"Mom? Dad? Is everything okay?" The only boy out of their kids shouted out from the other side of the door, snapping Lynn out of hisdaze.
Slowly, he turned his head towards the closed door and as he was doing so, that satisfied feeling quickly flew out of the window and far away from the man's grasp.
"After hearing his only son, he tossed the pen and went with his hands covered in his wife's blood," Hale said now leaning against the door. Lynn's panting long gone, so now on the other side of the door, he sat up against it with his knees against his chest. His chin resting on top of them.
Daniels gulped loudly. His hands slightly shaking as his face paled. It was all greatly disturbing, the man's story but only one out of six kills were mentioned. He prepared himself for the rest of them that he knew Hale would lay on him, but he also had a feeling that no matter what he does to stay strong through this, he'll probably throw up halfway.
Looking at the second name and age under Rita's, Daniels closed his eyes and cursed under his breath.
LINCOLN LOUD - 11
A kid. A CHILD. Eleven fucking years old.
"H-He... Killed," Daniels couldn't even bring himself to finish his sentence as he felt his stomach rumble.
Hale knew where he was going with it though and finished for him, "A little boy? His only son? Yup."
Lincoln waited for the door of his parent's room to open. Slightly worried from hearing his mother's scream but would instantly calm himself down as he would remind himself that his dad would never hurt her. He loved them all so much.
The door finally opened and revealed the darkness inside the room. Lincoln leaned forward as he looked inside with raised brows, it looked empty despite him hearing some commotion in there.
"Lincoln. Hi." He heard his dad whisper from inside the room. It made him jump a little but he looked up to see his father's face as the man stepped out of the room and into the light.
The boy's jaw dropped as he saw the splattered blood on his father's face. His eyes trailed down until Lynn's hands came into his vision, there his heart rate started to beat a thousand times faster as he saw the hand covered with blood entirely.
"What's wrong? Are you scared? Don't worry, mommy is only sleeping."
Lincoln mentally slapped himself back into reality, his legs jolted with energy as he ran away from his father and jumped over the couch. Lynn wasted no time in letting the boy escape and ran after him, his much taller legs giving him an advantage as he ran around the couch and tackled Lincoln.
Lincoln gave out a light scream as he felt Lynn collide into him and slam him on the floor. Now on his back, he began to wildly swing his hands up at his father. Hitting his chest and face to try and pry the man off him but it didn't work.
Lynn says on top of Lincoln, anchoring himself on his son to make sure he didn't get up.
'Choke him. Make him stop breathing.'
With no hesitation, Lynn's hands made their way to the white-haired boy's throat. Second time he'd end someone's life with this body part, but no matter. It must be done.
Squeezing tighter and tighter, he felt his son's nails dig into his shoulders as Lincoln began to gasp sharply, trying to breathe in some air. Each time he did so, Lynn would just squeeze his neck tighter. He was surprised he hasn't snapped the boy's neck yet.
Lincoln's eyes started to become droopy as his face turned into a dark purple. The clawing at his father's shoulders came to a halt and his hands dropped to his sides, he no longer had the strength to fight back as his lungs burned for some air relief.
"It's okay, daddy's here. Sleep now," Lynn cooed with a soft gaze as he kept his grip, "Rest."
Lincoln's eyes have one last blink before shutting permanently. His chest no longer rising up and down. Much like his mother, Lincoln was now dead.
Lynn waited a few minutes before finally letting go and standing up off his son. He smiled before turning around to see a much frightened Leni. She looked at Lincoln and then back to her dad. She may not have been a smart girl but she knew what her father did was beyond bad, she knew he killed her brother.
Backing up towards the stairs, Leni kept her eyes on her father as he followed her at a calm pace.
"L-Lori! Lori help!" Leni yelled out before running upstairs, Lynn now hot on her tail.
Hale watched as Daniels retched into the trash can not too far from the cells. Unlike the African-American, he knew the Loud's story all too well. Spending almost every day on it and re-enacting the scenes in his mind about 3 times a week, Hale grew to despise Lynn Sr. and made it his job to watch him suffer. Watch him rot in this cell for the rest of his life.
Taking deep breaths, Daniels wiped his mouth with the back of his hand and stood up straight. Steadying himself on his legs, he started to walk over to Hale and the cell door.
"You okay?" Hale stared at the dark-skinned man with a blank face. Sure he had the same reaction at first but now it was just something he was numb to.
"Y-Yeah. Just didn't feel so good," Daniels murmured before taking the rolled up paper out of his coat pocket, "The next ones are?"
LENI LOUD - 16
LUAN LOUD - 14
"Leni and Luan?"
"Leni was the second oldest of their kids. After questioning teachers and a few friends, they said she wasn't exactly on the bright side but had a heart of gold. Had dreams of being some big fashion designer." Hale smiled to himself as started to pace in front of the room once more. He felt himself grow a liking to Leni after reading some of her school papers after they took some tests for her intelligence.
Not that smart, it was written that Leni constantly talked about clothes she had in her closet and how much she loved her family. It sickened him that someone so pure met a fate so undeserving, that it took all of his strength to hold himself back from ripping that monsters throat out.
"And Luan?" Daniels asked as the feeling for his mind to go blank started to become stronger. He didn't want to hear this anymore but considering he was new on this case, he had to keep listening.
"A comedian, was funny enough to have her own little business that she often promoted at kids birthday parties and what not. Had a bright future in comedy."
Leni barely made it to the top few steps before tripping over her own feet. She whimpered as she knew came into contact with the wooden stairs, hissing as a throbbing pain started to shoot there.
Snapping her head around to the sound of hurried footsteps behind her, Leni's eyes widened as they landed on a smiling Lynn Sr.
"LORI, HELP ME!" Leni's shrill scream echoed throughout the house, getting the attention of her older sister who was in their shared room, taking pictures of herself. Lori immediately dropped her phone and ran out of their room.
Usually, Leni always cries for help for things she needs help with, but never like this. This one sounded urgent, frightened, and gave herself quite the scare.
Leni started wailing loudly, grabbing the attention of her other siblings who began to evacuate their rooms and run to their sister's aid. Lynn couldn't care less and stood over his second oldest daughter. He laid both of his hands on each side of her head, gripping tightly.
She gave one last scream before Lynn quickly and roughly twisted her head to the side. Her head now angled in a very unnatural position with a loud snap. Her eyes rolled to the back of her head as her body went limp and leaned against her father's body. Lynn scoffed and pushed her off him as she stepped to the side, letting her body tumble down the stairs until it landed on the bottom floor with a thud.
"Leni! Dad, what the fuck?!" Luan shouted as she stood there shocked, Lori and Luna standing directly behind her. Lynn Jr and Lucy ran out of their room and looked at their father. A mad smile, bloody covered body, and a crazy look in his eyes.
"Dad. What are you doing?" Lori asked quietly. Watching her father stalk towards them, she went to stand in front of her sisters in a protective manner.
But he didn't stop, he kept walking forward. Eyeing each of them. Luan could've sworn she heard him growling with his upper lip quivering in anger. She didn't know what Leni did to deserve that, nor does she know what they have done to him for this. Her sister was dead and she hasn't seen her mother nor Lincoln when she came so she feared for them as well.
"Luna," Lori whispered as she backed away from their dad, not taking her eyes off him, "Take Lynn and Lucy, go find the kids."
Nobody moved, everyone was too afraid of Lynn Sr's next move, they stood still in silence.
"NOW!" Lori shouted as she shot forward to tackle her father down to the floor. He grunted and started to overpower the blonde, slapping her hard in the face and tried to get her hands around her neck.
Luna grabbed the shirts of Lynn Jr and Lucy as she started to run in the direction of the younger kids rooms. Luan saw her older sister start to lose the fight and ran into her room quickly, looking around frantically for something to use as a weapon. Her eyes set upon Luna's guitar, the one she referred to as her 'ax'. Grabbing the neck of it, she ran out of the room and towards the pair that was fighting on the floor.
Lori was now on the bottom, taking open hand blows left and right. The smacks heard loudly in the hallway but the blonde kept strong and fought back.
Luan raised the guitar over her head and swung it down, hitting Lynn on the back of his own head hard. The guitar shattered against him and knocked him off Lori, making him fall beside her wincing.
Luan reached for her sister and yanked her out from underneath him, she helped her up and shoved her towards the kid's direction. Lori looked at her confused before turning her direction towards her father.
"Just go get them and call for help! He should be down now!"
Hesitant about it, Lori ran to Lola and Lana's room fast. Leaving Luan and Lynn to themselves.
Waiting to see a reaction from him, Luan took a few deep breaths of relief. He seemed to be unconscious and slowly breathing. Perfect. If they're lucky, Lori will find the kids and call the cops.
Looking at the bottom of the stairs, Luan felt tears well in eyes as she looked at Leni's crumpled body. She was such a nice girl. Always showed love to their dad. Why would he do this?
Suddenly pain exploded in the back of her head as she felt a heavy object break over it. Her body flung off the stairs and tumbled down. Hearing cracks and loud thuds on the way down. By the time she landed on anything, she landed on the body that already occupied the bottom step.
For the life of her, she couldn't move. Finding it nearly impossible to drag herself away from the stairs to get away from Lynn, she just couldn't. She found it hard to even yell out for Lori. She just laid there in pain she had never felt before.
Yet, she managed to shake harshly and cry silently as she saw her father stand over her body and laugh. He pulled Leni out from under her and toss her to the side. He then grabbed Luan by the hair and pull her head towards the last step. Forcefully opening her mouth and placing it on the edge of the step.
'Come on! Please! Move damn it, MOVE!' Luan screamed at herself and started to cry harder, little squeaks coming out this time.
Lynn lifted one foot and took a single breath before shooting it forward and smashing it against his daughter's head. Her mouth splitting in two and opening wide with a sickening squish.
Finding the sound delicious and all so good to his ears, Lynn tossed his head back and moaned lowly. A soft smile placed on his lips.
"Can someone tell me why this man isn't in prison?! Let alone on death row!" Daniels felt anger surge through him after the sickness started to fade away.
Hale shrugged and kept his eyes closed, he was now sitting against the wall beside the door, "Dunno. It read his lawyer plead insanity after the judge was informed of his breakdown at the scene of the crime."
"Breakdown?"
"Yeah, remember I told you who he blamed it on? 'The man with the red eyes'?"
Daniels nodded as he peeled his coat off and tossed it over his shoulder, sweat began forming wet spots on his clothes. Going through so many emotions in so little time shouldn't be healthy.
"Well, police report said that he held the body of his oldest daughter and said the man with the red eyes did it. That he needed to save the younger kids."
Hale watched as he co-worker walked towards the wall on the other side of the door and sat down against it like he did. Once settled there, Daniels looked down at the paper and read the last few names on the list.
LYNN LOUD JR. - 13
LUNA LOUD - 15
LORI LOUD - 17
"The last girls had no chance. There was no stopping him after Luan." Hale murmured as he bowed his head down.
"Lucy, you keep them here okay?" Lori whispered as she started to put the little ones in the attic. Lucy didn't know what was going on, she heard so much screaming and crying. She herself wanted to scream and cry.
"W-Why? Where's mom?"
"Don't worry about it, just stay here until someone comes to get you."
"Okay, Lori." Lucy whimpered as she grabbed ahold of Lily and held her close. Lola and Lisa close behind her.
Lori looked at the four in front of her and began to panic. One was missing. Lana. Where the hell was she?! The older blonde prayed she wasn't with their father and that maybe one of the other girls found her.
Lori quickly made her way down to the hallway and ran around like a chicken with her head cut off. The idea of little Lana being exposed to the dead bodies of any of her family members made him queasy. But what was even worse, was the thought of her younger sister being killed by their father, whose motive was still a mystery to them, but she didn't care anymore. Her goal was just to survive this all with whoever she can with.
"Dad?!"
She heard a small, raspy voice shout from her own room. Right after, she heard two other voices that belonged to Lynn Jr and Luna shout the girl's name.
"LANA!"
Now she didn't know where the extra boost of energy came from, nor did she care, but it helped her practically leap from one side of the hallway to the other. Once she reached the door, looking into the room she saw Luna trying to rip a sobbing Lana from their crazed father's arms. Lynn Jr collided her body with the man's and sent him flying into the wall next to the big window of Lori's room.
Luna managed to grab Lana and ran out of the room with her, going to hide the younger girl with their other siblings in the attic. Lori stayed frozen as she watched her father grab Lynn by the neck and lift her up high. The girl was athletic and all but that didn't match the strength to a deranged psychopath. Lori finally found her strength and shot towards the two Lynn's in an attempt to save her sister, but before she knew it, it was too late.
Her father roughly pushed the 13-year-old towards the window, hard enough to have the glass break against the girl's back and fly out of the houses second-floor room. As she reached the ground, Lynn's head landed first and was pushed back hard enough to snap her neck. Similar to Leni's but this time, the girl's body was covered in various cuts that bleed profusely all over the glass. Some even with bits of glass in them.
Lori knew she had to the get out of the room but she needed to get help. How though?... her phone. HER PHONE! THAT DAMNED DEVICE SHE HAD ALL THE TIME! WHERE THE FUCK WAS IT?!
After scanning the room, her eyes finally landed on the device that was on her bed, screen down. With no hesitation this time, she jumped onto her bed and grabbed onto it tightly. Lynn Sr followed her movement and jumped onto the bed. A hand now yanking on the blonde's hair and the other reaching for the phone that Lori tried so hard to keep out of his reach.
Luna bolted into the room with a large kitchen knife held above her head, with a prayer that she didn't accidentally stab her sister instead of her father, she swung the sharp object down. Lynn looked towards the brunette with a scowl, giving Lori some time to slip from under him and start to dial the police. The tip of the knife managing to slice down the man's upper lip, down his lower one, and slipping his chin a bit open.
"AH FUCK!" Lynn shouted as he grabbed onto his face and curled off the bed. Blood pouring out of his wound like nobody's business. Lori ran just outside of the room and held the phone to her ear as she tried to stop her heart from beating fast. Luna held the knife and kept it aimed carefully at her father.
"Royal Woods police department, what's your emergency?" The operator on the other side of the phone asked. Seemingly bored but Lori didn't fucking care.
"Please! You have to help! My father, h-he's killing everyone!"
"Okay, calm down ma'am. He's killing everyone?"
"YES! HE IS FUCKING KILLING EVERYONE IN MY FAMILY! I HAVE LITTLE SISTERS! I NEED HELP!" Lori screamed, when she said something and she needs help with it, then she means what she says and that means she needs the help right away! Not to dick around and have this guy play 21 questions with her.
"Okay, Okay. What is your address, ma'am?"
"1216 Franklin Avenue! He already t-threw one of my sisters out the window, you'll see her!" Lori had to control her emotions, she wanted to break down crying as the image of Lynn Jr flying out of the window replayed in her head so many times within that moment.
"Okay, help is on the way! We'll be there soon!"
We'll my ass! They need to come fast, Luna can only hold him off so long. She wanted whoever was left to survive. The girls needed them. They really did now.
"Please hurry!"
Dropping the phone without even bothering to hang up, Lori ran back to her room and grew extremely concerned with it finally being quiet for the last minute of the phone call. She hoped Luna managed to get their father down but the other possibility of him killing her made the blonde fear the silence.
When she got them, Luna stood in front of Lynn her head down. The rocker's back facing Lori. With an almost sliced opened bottom of his face, Lynn smiled widely, his blood stained teeth flashed at Lori who started to shake violently as she realized the worst thing she feared at the moment, had actually happened.
Luna turned to face her sister, once her front was finally visible, it was seen that the knife stabbed through her right hand and into her stomach.
"L-Lori? Help…" Was all she was able to get out before Lynn reached and grabbed the blades handle, he pushed her back with the other as he yanked it out of her body. Luna fell back weakly and slammed her head against the window sill. No longer moving, no longer breathing.
Lori started to sob harshly and back away from Lynn who was now stalking towards her. She wanted to give up, to just let him kill her and get it over with. She didn't know why he wanted to but at this point and with these many people dead, she knew she couldn't get it out of him.
But the drive she had to stay alive was that knowing the kids were just upstairs, they deserved to live.
"WELL COME ON THEN!"
Was all that needed to be shouted before Lynn shot towards her and attempted to stab her. Lori barely dodged the knife but ran for her life downstairs. Practically jumping down the stairs, over Leni and Luan's body. Past Lincoln's body and her parent's room where there was a trailer puddle of blood still soaking into the carpet.
She ran outside and saw Lynn Jr's body, covered in glass and blood with a dark ring around her neck. Looking around, she began to scream as she heard heavy footsteps frantically run towards her.
"HELP ME!"
Were the last words Lori Loud ever spoke as her bloodied and bruised father finally reached her and stabbed her to death. His knife digging into the back of her neck, then her chest, her stomach, and lastly her throat.
"Then our boys in blue found him," Hale murmured as he stood up from his spot after so long, looking to Daniels who sat there with a pale face, "He tried to convince the jury and judge he wasn't guilty. But they all knew the truth. They only humored him with a trail, just to tell him they're gonna stick him in this cell for the rest of his life."
Daniels stood up with him after a moment. He folded the paper and put it in his pocket. Nothing much more her can say aside from, "So what about the younger girls? Did they find them?"
Hale looked down and frowned. That big last detail of it all.
"Well… Yes, they did. The remaining five. Well, they were sent to live with family members. Not all together sadly but last I heard, they see each other very often," Hale started to walk away from Lynn's cell with Daniels follow close behind, they walked into an elevator where both men straightened their clothes out to look neat once more, "The twins with an aunt, the smartest one with an uncle, and the youngest with one of the mother's cousin."
Both walked down an empty hallway side by side. The sounds of their footsteps heard echoing around them, Hale's destination was the very last cell of the corridor and Daniels just followed.
"That's four. What about the fifth one. Lucy was it?"
Hale sighed but kept quiet as they finally reached the last cell door. He reached in his pocket for a key and inserted it in the keyhole. Turing it to open the door. Daniels backed away nervously but let his co-worker do what he wanted.
Once open, Hale put on a smile and walked in.
"Hi, Lucy! How are you doing today honey?" He said happily as he walked towards a small frame that faced the corner of the wall. It was a girl who had long black hair covering her face and a white uniform.
This was Lucy. This was the girl that Lori had trusted with the kids after that all went down? Why was she here?
Daniels pulled the paper from back out from his pocket and scanned the front of it before turning it around, surprised as he read some text he seemed to have missed. His heart broke in half as he read the paragraph that was just the cherry on top of this story. This twisted, ugly story.
