little things for the following three prompts:
"AU where Ryoji/another guy or MC has braces"
"Minato and Ryoji sharing a scarf"
"After Nyx"

potential spoilers but i haven't even gotten to ryoji yet so it's ok.

if you're into techno i suggest looking up kraftwerk because they are a really great band.

[braces]

The first person Minato sees when he gets off the bus and has finally lugged his way to school is Ryoji. His insides drop and his heart flutters and, to say the least, he feels like some stupid girl from Akihiko's fanclub, but he doesn't mind it too much. He's soon by his side in front of the school gate, grabbing a small kiss when they're sure no one's looking, and Minato chuckles.

"Braces, huh?"

"My teeth were too sexy for me," Ryoji jokes. "Something's got to keep them under control."

[warmth]

Ryoji offers him late-night coffee and with a yawn, he nods his head and shrugs his coat on as he steps into the bitter, uninviting air, putting his MP3 player and, even though he's in the need for some Kraftwerk right now, he lets the device decide a song.

With a sniffle, he smiles when he sees Ryoji right outside the dorm, waiting for him. He's always been right on time, or for Minato, at least.

As soon as he's close enough Ryoji stops him and readjusts his scarf so that both of their necks is in enveloped in its warmth.

[second chance]

When Minato dies—sort of dies? kind of dies, dies, but doesn't really die, whatever—he counts to one hundred before he opens his eyes. Nothing is an infinite black where he can hear, feel, touch, make sound, but not see, and instead he's chained to a giant door.

He's not crucified on it, but yes, he's chained to it, a chain that looks as if it was just painted with a new sheet of black, disappearing into the door of the same colour. Where the door leads he's not sure. The room was white, huge, rather disturbing, and the door was the only sign of even a single wall (so was it really a room, then? how confusing). The chain seemed pretty long; it was all bundled up next to each other, but wasn't tied together, so he could walk a bit if he pleased, but right now he didn't want to walk. And he felt awful for it, but—

"Ryoji?"

"I'm right here."

And suddenly Ryoji is giving him that soft, reassuring embrace that he would give Minato whenever either of them were sad, his fingers ghostly pale and bony, in a way that seems familiar but doesn't.

He lets out a shuddering breath and wraps his hand around one of those ghost hands and smiles softly.
