Thunderstorms
A/N: THIS IS FOR Dalma22. FOR FIRST PERSON TO REQUEST SOMETHING FROM ME. IM VERY TOUCHED. THANK YOU. I HOPE THIS IS GOOD. I MAY BE A LIL DARKER THEN WHAT YOU MENT FOR. BUT THIS IS THE BEST I CAN DO. HOPE YOU LIKE IT. ITS A LIL SHORT TOO, BUT ITS MY FIRSST ONE SHOT TOO.
I laid in my bed wide awake, staring up at the ceiling. It's been like this for almost three months already. I could never sleep. Just lying there looking at my ceiling, thoughts of that day running through my head. A blue flash illuminated my dark room. Lightning. Where there was lightning there was thunder? That's when I heard the loud bang. Sighing I moved over in my bed.
Katie came running in tears running down her face. "K-Kendall!" she practically fell on my bed. She grabbed my shirt hold as tight as she could "Th-They're here Kendall."
"Shh.. baby sister. They aren't here remember. They can't hurt you." I said soothing in her ear. This is how it's been for three months. Every time there was a thunderstorm. Unfortunately there seems to be nothing but thunderstorms. "Remember Katie. The bad man who took away mommy and daddy are punished."
My mom and dad were shot by some burglars. My dad tried to fight them off but he didn't know they had guns. My mom was upstairs with us and had called the cops but then ran downstairs when she heard the bang. They shot her too. She saw their faces, apparently. The cops came right after that and caught the men. It was too late, but they were arrested so I guess that helps. Ever since ive been taking care of Katie since I was already the thunder make Katie think there are men shooting at us.
There is only one way to help her calm down enough to fall back to sleep. A distraction. My mom use to do it when we had nightmares. I start to tickle her sides.
"NO. KENDALL! I HATE…. WHEN YOU.. DO… THIS…" Katie starts o laugh. This was here distraction. Man I love her smile. "STOP PLEASE…"
I stop tickling her and her breathing starts to even out. "Thanks Kendall" she said wiping her tears. She cuddled into my side, holding on to me tight.
"No problem, baby sister. I love you." I kiss her forehead feeling her relax into sleep.
