'If you asked Gildarts Clive if he had a daughter-complex, he would probably... I don't really know what he would do... Get mad, maybe? Or fawn over Cana again saying how much he loved her.
Sure, he loved his daughter, but it wasn't the kind of love between Natsu and Lucy! It's not like he was a pedophile... Right? Well, he just loved Cana dearly as one and only daughter, let's just leave it at that.

Of course he didn't get irritated when he found out Bacchus stole Cana's clothes after their drinking contest! And he didn't try to poison Bacchus's beer when he came for another contest! And it wasn't his fault that the guild of Quartros Cerberus-or Puppy-blew up! He just... Lost his way and bumped into the building.
Yeah, he had a tiny argument with Cana about dating Bacchus, but that was all. After all, who did Bacchus think he was?
Yes, he had to admit it warmed his heart a little when they got engaged, but that was because she was his daughter! It meant that he might get grandchildren. No, it wasn't true that he was jealous. No, he didn't not disagree to walk Cana down the aisle of her wedding because he disapproved of Bacchus. And he absolutely didn't scowl during the process after she convinced him to do so.

No, he did not booby-trap Bacchus's room with Erza's special cake from Jellal as a birthday present when he found out Cana might be pregnant. There's no proof!

"NATSU! IT'S NOT A DIARY!" Lucy screamed as she grabbed the thin, pink book to cover her beet-red, burning face. She then used the surprisingly weapon-like book on Happy as he slyly whispered to her, "You liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iiike him~!"
