Rory's POV

"I love you," Jess just told me that. He actually loves me. I was surprised, angry, but at the same time happy. I was not expecting that at all. He started to walk away, but I wasn't going to let him just run right out of my life again.

"No!" I exclaimed.

He stopped in his tracks and turned around, "What?" he looked confused, I bet he was thinking that I would just stay silent.

"You can't do this again," I know I will come up with a better argument it just hasn't formulated in my head yet.

"Do what?" Jess asked, oblivious to the situation.

"Run away again, without saying goodbye again! You can't just run whenever your scared, and you definitely can't run after saying something like that to me," I was seething mad, I started walking toward him "it's not fair!" my voice was considerably softer after I realized the whole town was watching.

"I wanted to give you time to process it," he said, not taking his gaze away from his shoes.

"Time! All the time I would have needed would be five minutes and you could of stayed for that!" I wanted to make him look at me so I could tell what he was thinking.

He did not reply, just stood there looking at his shoes.

"Look at me, Jess." I tell him my voice quiet. He raised his head and looked at me straight in the eyes. He looked…scared.

"You said you needed five minutes, what's your reply?" He asked me, I could barely hear him because he was whispering,

"Jess if that was you on the phone, you already know the answer to that. Of course I love you, but it's not that easy, I mean this town" I was about to continue but Jess cut me off.

"This town? This town passes judgment on everything and everyone. They are all staring right now so I'm sure that this will make the front page of the Star's Hollow Gazette tomorrow. So what if people don't approve? Do you really care what people think of us, of this?" He gestured between us.

"NO! I don't care what the town thinks of us, I care what my" but he cut me off again.

'"Your mom thinks" he finished my sentence for me.

"Yes" I reply.

"I'll be better this time, I'll be more polite, more civil whatever it takes. Rory I want to be with you, and I will try harder this time." He really is pleading; I've never seen him plead before.

"I might think of giving you one more chance, if you move back here and re-take senior year." Those were my conditions.

"Oh, Rory," His voice was whiney.

"No oh Rory, those are my conditions, take it or leave it." My voice was very matter of fact.

"Okay." He said

"What?" I didn't think he would agree to the conditions.

"I said okay, I'll do it." He was really doing it. And the look on his face made me want to kiss him. So I stepped foreword and he followed suit.

We were so close that I could smell him. I had missed his smell. I had missed his smell. I had missed his leather jacket and his crazy hair. I had missed him. He leaned forward and raised his hands to cup my cheeks. When we kissed fireworks exploded inside of me. I love him so much. He makes me feel weak in the knees. I could here cheering from the town in the background, but I was not paying attention to that. The only thing I could concentrate on was Jess.

Our kiss broke and we just stood there, foreheads touching.

"I love you," we said simultaneously.
