Emily was in the process of giving herself a pep talk as she took the elevator up to the floor that Hotch's apartment was on. "Just tell him how you feel Emily. How hard can it be? You have done harder things than this before. It's just words you can do it. Don't chicken out now that you have drove all the way over here."
Emily kept repeated that to herself as she got out of the elevator and walked to Hotch's apartment door. She had been saying the same thing since she left her own apartment. She was nervous which was understandable even if she did hate being nervous. After all Hotch was not only her boss but he was her best friend as well. She straightened her shoulders, raised her head high and then raised her hand and knocked on his door.
As she waited for him to answer his door she did some deep breathing exercises. It would not do her any good if she hyperventilated before telling him what she came to tell him. She let a small smile play on her lips as she heard him undoing his locks. She could do this she knew she could. She just had to say it quickly before she lost her nerve.
As soon as Hotch opened up his door Emily rushed to say "Don't say anything just yet Aaron. Just listen to what I have to say. I am head over heels in love you. I do not know when it happened and I really do not care it just matters that I am and that I told you finally how I feel about you."
Aaron's lips started twitching as he listened to Emily talk real fast and once she was done he quirked an eyebrow. "Are you done now Emily?"
Emily nodded her head and then gasped in surprise when Aaron pulled her swiftly into his arms and kissed her like there was no tomorrow. She felt his tongue in her mouth and she moaned even as she put her hands on either side of his shirt collar and pulled him further into her. She knew that she was eventually going to have to breathe but right now she did not care. All she cared about is the fact that she was finally kissing Aaron like she had been dreaming about for the last several months.
When he broke the kiss Aaron said "I am head over heels in love with you too Emily."
Emily giggled at this and said "I could tell with the way you kissed me Aaron. You kiss better in person than you did in any of the dreams I have had about kissing you."
Aaron laughed and pulled Emily into his apartment and over to the couch. "I would hope that I can kiss better than your imagination. If I couldn't then I think I would be worried."
Emily giggled again and then stood up from the couch only to sit right back down again but this time she was on Aaron's lap. She wrapped her arms around his neck and dived her fingers into his hair as she pushed his head down so that once again they were kissing. As Aaron pushed his tongue into her mouth she smiled as she felt his arms wrap securely around her waist.
