In Sleep He Sang to Me

~By Phantom of the Basement~

Disclaimer: For the thousandth time, I don't own POTO!!!! * sob * Just you wait…I'm still

negotiating with Andrew and Gaston… If it seems too short, it's because I only had one

piece of paper with me when I wrote this, and I had to write small as it was.

Author's Note: This is set in the Graveyard at Perros scene, right before "Wishing You

Were Somehow Here Again" and "Wandering Child/Bravo Monsieur". This is supposed to be

Christine's thoughts as she sings to her father's grave. Anything in "" marks is

what Christine is singing. Anything in regular font is what she's thinking. OK? OK!

"In sleep he sang to me, in dreams he came…"

Oh Papa! Everything is so confusing now. When it all started, it all seemed so

simple. It was just My Angel of Music and I, our voices together as one. We had our own

little world of music…a world made by the beautiful angel sent by you, Papa.

"That voice which calls to me, and speaks my name…"

Every day, I would anxiously wait for the impending lesson. Impatiently, I would

work at rehearsals half of my mind on the task at hand, the other half replaying his

splendid voice. The voice which could soar with the angels or reach the deepest, darkest,

pits of hell…that ethereal voice which would be forever imprinted on my mind. I know now

that he is not the Angel of Music; he is not only a disfigured genius, but a madman as well.

No wonder his voice can sound so dark and foreboding. That is all that he has ever

known: Tragedy and Darkness. Let him see what I see: a black, twisted soul masking a

beautiful heart. The darkness of his soul masks the true person inside, just as the cruel

black mask hides his face. God give me courage to change that.

Authoress's note: Please review and tell me what you thought of my little ficlet. I had it posted for about a month before, and no one reviewed, and I took it down. Please give me your thoughts so I don't have to do that again.
