So, this was inspired by Season 5 Episode 21, and the scene is described below. Honestly, in that 1-2 minute scene, it brought that cute little bit of fluff to my mind. I really hope you guys like it as much as I do! WARNING: THIS CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR SEASON 10, STOP READING NOW IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN IT.

"How you doin', Pumpkin?" He said, smiling as he moved closer to Phoebe, crossing one leg over the other as he sat back.

She smiled back at him, but replied with a simple, "Nope" as she went back to reading the paper while Chandler just shook his head, not really expecting it to work.

It was just after Gary had called Phoebe, "Baby Doll" and they had established that Chandler couldn't pull off "Baby Doll" or, as Monica so kindly pointed out, "Sugar Lips".

He had never really been one for pet names. Neither of them were, really. Sure, he'd slip in the occasional "sweetie" here and there, maybe a "hun", but to him, she would always be Monica. One of his best friends, the most beautiful woman he knew, and his lover. She didn't really use pet names much either, but it never seemed necessary.

It was a good thing, though. As already stated, Chandler couldn't pull off pet names like that. Gary had a way of using them with this natural coolness. It was part of his character, and Chandler didn't have that innate coolness about him. He was Chandler, awkward, clumsy, socially inept Chandler. He tried to be "cool" but he couldn't pull it off.

He felt lucky to have a girl like Monica Geller. She put up with so many faults in his character, his fear of commitment, his failed attempts at romance, his occasional relapse into smoking, his overreactions, his corny dance. Most girls would've ditched him a long time ago, hell most girls already had. But that's why Monica wasn't like most girls.

So he couldn't pull off pet names. So he'd never be as suave as Joey, or as cool as Gary. So he'd never call a girl "baby doll", "sugar lips", or even something simple as "pumpkin". It didn't matter so much. He didn't have to try so hard with Monica. She loved him just for being Chandler Bing, and that's something that couldn't be said for just anyone. He loved her with all his heart.

So what if he could never call a girl "pumpkin"?

Erica Bing clutched the white bed sheets so hard; her little fists were turning white. She heart the machines in the area beeping, buzzing and wheezing away. She'd just been removed from the semi-private room she shared with a little boy who broke his arm, and now only a curtain separated her from the other children, most of who were admitted for worse ailments than tonsillitis.

Still, however, the illness had taken a toll on her. What she thought to be a sore throat developed to the point where her tonsils became so swollen that she could barely swallow, and eating and drinking were out of the question. She was given medication to bring the swelling down, and she was hooked up to an IV to keep from dehydration. Once she'd been eating again for 2 days, they decided she was ready for surgery. But she wasn't so sure. She needed her Daddy.

She heard footsteps approaching and sat upright as the silhouette of a man's figure paused in front of her curtain, but he moved on and she sank back into her pillow. Every shadow that passed by induced the same reaction, and left her disappointed. Where was he? He wouldn't let them take her away without seeing her first… Would he?

Finally, Chandler Bing peered behind the curtain, and upon seeing his six-year old daughter, sheets stilled balled tightly in her fists, the look of anxiousness upon his arrival, he smiled softly at her.

"Daddy!" Erica exclaimed, upon the realization that he finally made it.

"How you doin', Pumpkin?" He asked gently, stroking her blond hair.

"I'm scared Daddy," she admitted, tears gathering in her eyes. "I don't wanna have my tonsils out. I wanna just go home with you and Mommy and Jack. I wanna sleep in my bed, and I want all these doctors to leave me alone!" she cried, tears now rolling down her face.

"Hey, hey, sweetie. It's gonna be okay," Chandler said reassuringly, wrapping her small, trembling hand in his own. "You're gonna be just fine. We just want to make sure you're all better, so you don't get sick like that again. You wouldn't want that, would you?" he asked.

"No," she sniffled, wiping her eyes with her sleeve.

"And besides, after this, you get to eat all the ice cream you want. And not that low fat soy junk Mommy keeps in the fridge, I mean the real ice cream," he said, smiling at his daughter as she began giggling.

"Really, Daddy? All I want?" she asked, feeling slightly better about the situation.

"When have I ever lied to you?" he said, hugging Erica close. He still held her hand when he pulled away

"Why didn't Mommy come to see me, too?" she asked, looking around him, as if Monica was simply hiding behind Chandler silently. Erica was disappointed not to find her. "Didn't she want to come see me?" she asked; a disheartened look on her face.

"Of course she did, Mommy's just in that waiting room. Jack still has his cold, and they won't let him come back here, because some of the other kids shouldn't get sick. She doesn't want to leave him alone there, so we arm wrestled to see who would get to see you before your procedure!" Chandler cried in the overdramatic way he always had, to make his daughter smile.

His attempt was successful, as Erica smirked at his remark, snickering slightly as she said, "Mommy won again, didn't she?"

"Yes, but I ran through the doors so much faster, so…" he trailed off, as Erica erupted into giggles, and he couldn't help but smile tenderly at the girl.

In reality, he told Monica he'd let her pick the movie for the next 5 date nights if she let him take this one. She'd reluctantly agreed and stayed with Jack, to make sure he didn't get into mischief, which they both knew he was prone to do.

"Mr. Bing, they're ready for Erica downstairs," said a nurse, ready to wheel Erica to the operating room. She tightened her grip on Chandler's hand instinctively upon hearing this.

"Hey remember, you're gonna be fine, don't worry" Chandler reassured his daughter, hugging her once more. "And Mommy, Jack and I will all see you in your room when you wake up, okay?"

Erica nodded bravely. "I love you Daddy," she murmured into his chest.

"I love you too," he said, as he placed a gentle kiss on her forehead.

"I'll see you afterwards, Pumpkin," he called, as they wheeled her away, and she waved at him until she was out of sight. He went to rejoin Jack and Monica in the waiting room.

What do you know? Turns out Chandler could one day pull of "Pumpkin" after all.
