A/N I don't own PJO. This is just a random oneshot that came into my head while I was reading The Battle of the Labyrinth for the, like, fifteenth time. I have no clue what it has to do with The Battle of the Labyrinth, but whatever.
Breaking Bad News
Thalia POV
As I was walking up the hill with Nico, on my way back from a failed quest, I saw everyone coming up to meet me. We actually did complete the quest, but it felt like a failure. You wanna know why? Because Percy didn't make it back. My eyes flooded with tears, thinking about it again.
He died by walking into an army of 700 monsters. Me and Nico were stealing the intel we needed and were about to be overrun, but Percy sacrificed himself to save us. He bought us just enough time to secure the intel and some exploding arrows into the army and blow them up. Nico summoned a bunch of undead soldiers to serve him. He told them to attack the monsters and we ran. Nico shadow traveled us back to camp and here we are.
So, it was my job to break the bad news to Annabeth. I was so worried about her reaction. My train of thought was broken when they started cheering. They stopped cheering and I knew they realised.
"Where's Percy?" Someone asked.
Soon, it was chaos. Everyone was shouting and yelling questions. Annabeth ran up to me, tears in her eyes, and prctically screamed, "Where is Percy!?" She looked around, tears spilling now. "Where is he? What kind of sick joke is this?!"
I couldn't take it anymore. I had to get it out. "He's gone Annabeth," I yelled. It probably wasn't the best idea to yell, but I couldn't take it. "He's gone forever! He died Annabeth! And he's never coming back!"
"No! No no no no!" She screamed. She broke down in tears, and I couldn't do anything but cry with her.
A/N :( That was sad. Sorta. Anyways, I thought that this really brought out Thalia's soft side. Don't you? Tell me in the reviews!
