A/N: Although this still isn't beta'ed, I felt like posting it now, because listening to this song, I remembered I still have this unpublished on my laptop... Hope you can enjoy anyway.
Reviews would be appreciated. Thanks...
I stand.
When you ask me, who I am…
What is my vision? And do I have a plan?
Where is my strength? Have I nothing to say?
I hear the words in my head, but I push them away.
Standing in the bullpen, Ziva looked out of the window. She could still remember the day that changed her life.
The day she choose America over Israel.
The day she choose NCIS over Mossad.
The day she choose Gibbs over her father.
'Cause I stand for the power to change,
I live for the perfect day.
I love till it hurts like crazy,
I hope for a hero to save me.
I stand for the strange and lonely,
I believe there's a better place.
I don't know if the sky is heaven,
But I pray anyway.
Israel had been her home, the place she should have loved more than anything else.
America was her home now, because she was save here.
Her father had been her boss, her protector. Now he felt more like an enemy. He had hurt her deeply and now she was sure she would never trust him again.
Gibbs had saved her, not because he owed her, but because he cared about her. He had protected her since the day they met and she knew he would always be there for her.
And I don't know
What tomorrow brings
The road less traveled
will it set us free?
Cause we are taking it slow,
these tiny legacies.
I don't try and change the world;
But what will you make of me?
He had been there for her, when she needed him most. He had brought her home from Somalia. He had held her, when she needed to cry, when she needed to talk. He had gotten her a job, helped her with her citizenship application. He had helped her change.
'Cause I stand for the power to change,
I live for the perfect day.
I love till it hurts like crazy,
I hope for a hero to save me.
I stand for the strange and lonely,
I believe there's a better place.
I don't know if the sky is heaven,
But I pray anyway.
He had been her hero on so many levels. A boss she could look up to. A colleague she could trust. A friend she could talk to. A handsome man she could admire. A partner she could share a bed with, when the nightmares were too scary. A lover who could make her forget all the bad things that had happened in the past and the bad things she saw every day.
With the slightest of breezes
We fall just like leaves
As the rain washes us from the ground
We forget who we are
We can't see in the dark
And we quickly get lost in the crowd
But the bad things didn't matter anymore. The more time she spent with him, the better she could forget. She had started a new life, in a new home, with a new job, amazing friends and the man she loved.
'Cause I stand for the power to change,
I live for the perfect day.
I love till it hurts like crazy,
I hope for a hero to save me.
'Cause I stand for the power to change,
I live for the perfect day.
I love till it hurts like crazy,
I hope for a hero to save me.
I stand for the strange and lonely,
I believe there's a better place.
I don't know if the sky is heaven,
But I pray anyway.
