I'm falling down Mt. Ebbot. To my doom, probably.

I'm so petrified I dont't even stop to think about the fact that Undertale is just a game and this shouldn't be happening.

It's taking longer than it should to collect my haphazard thoughts.

But I don't know what I expected, considering I'm falling down a gaping hole in a magical mount-

Oh.

These flowers really did break my fall.

And now Flowey.

I walk to the next room.

Of course, a talking flower.

He's even creepier in reality.

Upside?

There's still a soundtrack. I can hear music from no discernible source.

Sweet.

"Howdy! I'm Flowey. Flowey the flower!"

I run my fingers through my h/c hair. This is going to take a while.

"Hmmmm...you're new to the underground, aren't'cha?

I nod. "Sorta." Flowey looks at me curiously. "What do you mean by 'sorta'?"

"Well, I know who you are, at least."

Flowey seems to almost back away.

"Well that's not creepy..."

I cross my arms. "Yeah, uh huh, neither is an evil talking flower, buddy. Keep up."

Flowey narrows his eyes.

"Any way, See that heart? That's your soul."

A small heart-shaped light seemed to be pulsing near my chest and emanating a faint warmth.

It looks so much cooler in real life. My soul is...multi-colored?

I was expecting it to be red.

Or orange.

Or one color.

Green, yellow, purple-

I'm, like, the avatar of the humans.

Flowey's staring at my soul intently.

"The very culmination of your being. Your soul starts off weak, but it can grow stronger by gaining LV. What's LV you ask? Why LOVE of course! Here LOVE is shared through little white...Friendliness Pellets!"

I blink.

"I..I didn't ask."

"Ok you know what, kid? I don't like you very much. So..."

I know what's coming next.

I pull my scariest face and...

"DIE."

I don't even try to move. I whistle and check my nails like the cliche protagonist I am.

The death pellets stop.

Toriel has blown Flowey out of the figurative and literal park.

I run over and hug her. "Goat Mom!"

Toriel looked taken aback. "Would..would that make you happy? To call me...mother?"

I nod vigourously.

The goat monster blushed. "Well, I suppose a proper introduction is in order- my name is Toriel. I am the caretaker of the ruins."

She held out her hand. Soft, not surprisingly. I want to hug her and never let go.

"I'm Y/N."

And with that, we entered the RUINS.
