Return of Noah

Its been 5 years since Battle City. Mokuba has grown 2 feet and taken on more responsibilities at Kaiba Corp. so Seto could spend less time working and more time with his boyfriend, Joey. He's also been working on a secret project. Finding Noah. 1st, he had to create a program that could search Kaiba Corp's mainframe, since its huge. It took him 4 years to find a very large file named Noah. He also worked on a virtual avatar program. The avatar had to be able to speak, move, and had to be able to handle the amount of data in the file he found.

After completing the avatar program, he designed its appearance to look like Noah's the last time he saw him. Then he uploaded the files he found.

The avatar opens its eyes and its voice came out of the computer's speakers.

He asks, "Who are you?"

Mokuba asks, "Noah?"

Noah says, "Yes. Again, who are you?"

Mokuba says, "Its me, Mokuba. You don't recognize me?"

Noah says, "You've changed."

Mokuba says, "Its been 5 years. There was something I wanted to ask you. What happened to your body?"

Noah says, "I was riding in the limo. A car crashed into the back. I think on purpose. My neck was broken. I was paralyzed from the neck down. Gozaburo didn't want somebody to have to do everything for me."

Mokuba says, "I found the article about it. I meant after your mind was uploaded."

Noah says, "My body was frozen in Kaiba Corp's Antartica base in case my neck could be fixed."

Mokuba says, "Kaiba Corp doesn't have an Antartica base."

Noah says, "Kaiba Corp had a secret military base on every continent. Like how you didn't know about the base I was in. They can access the mainframe, but are separate from it. Its how Gozaburo kept his weapons secrets."

Mokuba asks, "Do you know where they were?"

Noah says, "Bring up a map. I can pinpoint them."

Mokuba brings up a virtual map of the world. Noah points out 10 locations. Mokuba puts a dot on each location.

Mokuba says, "I might have a way to return to your body and heal it."

Noah says, "I'm not in any hurry. I have 5 years of information to catch up on. Only, my body would still look 12. How would you explain my return, especially since it would like I hadn't aged?"

Mokuba says, "We might keep you a secret for a couple years. Until your body has grown.

Then again, there are some adults that are the same height as kids."

Mokuba spends the next 2 weeks helping Noah catch up on the last 5 years. He's been putting off telling Yugi and Seto he found Noah.

The next day is their monthly meeting at Kaiba Corp in an R & D lab, to make sure no innocents get hurt, to practice using their shadow magic, in case its needed again.

Mokuba asks, "Noah, do you remember when you dueled Yugi and he seemed to change?"

Noah says, "I never understood how that was possible."

Mokuba says, "At the time, Yugi's body had 2 souls. One was of an ancient Pharaoh. Thanks to something awful being done in ancient Egypt, normal people were given access to the Shadow Realm, which is where duel monsters live. Using shadow magic, I can summon real duel monsters and make spells and traps real. Once a month, those who can get together and practice using our shadow magic. That's why Yugi and his boyfriend, Yami, are coming here tomorrow. I want to tell them and Seto I found you, but that's up to you."

Noah says, "Its very difficult to believe everything you told me."

Mokuba says, "Seto was in denial of it for a long time. Watch some of the recorded duels from Battle City, especially those with a person with a gold item on them. You'll see some really weird things that don't make sense, unless you consider that magic might be real."

Noah says, "I'll watch them. I've decided I want you to tell Seto about me tomorrow."

Mokuba says, "I need to go home and go to bed. See ya tomorrow."

Noah says, "Good night, Mokuba."

The next day, Seto, Joey, Yami, and Yugi are in the R & D lab when Mokuba comes in with his laptop.

Mokuba says, "I have something to show all of you."

Mokuba opens his laptop and shows them the screen. They see Noah on the screen.

Noah says, "Hi."

Seto says, "You found him."

Mokuba says, "He told me his body is cryogenically frozen in Kaiba Corp's Antartic base. I want to return him to his body."

Seto says, "Kaiba Corp doesn't have an Antartic base."

Mokuba says, "Kaiba Corp has a lot of bases we didn't know about. Noah showed me where they are."

Seto asks, "Noah, have you changed for the better?"

Noah asks, "Have you?"

Seto says, "I have. I even have a boyfriend." He gives Joey a peck on the lips.

Noah says, "Neither of us is still being influenced by my father. He's the one that made both of us insane."

Seto asks, "Why did your father upload your mind?"

Noah says, "A car rammed the back of the limo I was riding in. My neck was broken. The doctors told my father I would be on a ventilator and be paralyzed from the neck down for the rest of my life. Instead of taking care of a paraplegic, he uploaded my mind and cryogenically froze my body."

Seto says, "We will go to Antartica and return your mind to your body."

Noah says, "I'd rather stay in a computer than be paralyzed."

Yami says, "We can heal the damage done."

Since traveling to Antartica isn't easy, it takes a week to make the arrangements.

The scientists are surprised when Seto Kaiba walks in the base.

One of the scientists asks, "Who are you?"

Seto says, " Seto Kaiba. Why are you still here?"

One of the scientists says, "We're still getting paid to perform experiments."

Seto asks, "What types of experiments?"

Another scientist says, "Cryogenic and climate experiments."

Seto says, "As long as your experiments don't involve weapons, I will allow you to continue working on them. However, you need to take a break. Get off this continent and get caught up with what has been happening in the world."

The first scientist says, "Yes, sir."

Seto says, "Take me to Noah Kaiba's body."

The first scientist says, "Yes, sir," and does so.

Seto asks, "How long will it take to thaw his body?"

The scientist says, "2 days."

Seto says, "Guys, we have 2 days to kill in the middle of nowhere."

Yugi says, "We can still duel."

They spend the next 2 days eating, talking, dueling, and sleeping.

The scientist says, "I can now safely remove Noah's body from the pod."

The scientist takes Noah's body out of the pod and puts it on a table.

Mokuba asks, "Do you have the device that was used to upload Noah's mind?"

The scientist says, "Yes, sir." The scientist pulls out a weird looking helmet and puts it on Noah's head. Mokuba connects his laptop to the helmet. Noah transfers himself into his body.

Seto says, "Please leave the room." The scientist does as asked.

Seto, Joey, Yami, Yugi, and Mokuba all activate spell cards meant to restore a duelist's life points. They send the energy into Noah's body. An hour later, Noah's body starts flapping around like a fish.

Seto says, "You will need some physical therapy, but you can breathe and move on your own."

Mokuba leans over and kisses Noah's mouth.

Noah asks, "Why did you do that?" Noah's voice comes out a whisper.

Mokuba says, "I like you. Would you be interested in going on a date?"

Seto says, "Mokuba, remember. He still mostly has the mind of a 12-year-old. He likely doesn't even know if he's gay, bi, or straight. Give him a couple years for his mind and body to mature."

Mokuba says, "You're right. We can start as friends, then see if it goes anywhere."

Noah says, "I'd like to be your friend. I'm not sure about anything more."

Mokuba says, "I'm in no hurry. It took years for Joey and Seto to admit they liked each other."

They all return to Japan. While Noah is going thru physical therapy, Seto makes it Mokuba's mission to visit the hidden bases and find out what the scientists are doing there. All but 2 are making weapons. Mokuba fires the scientists making weapons, then turns those bases into R & D labs for Kaiba Corp. When he returns to Japan, Noah can spend short periods walking, but has somebody there to catch him if he falls. He also has grown a couple inches. They start hanging out together when Mokuba isn't working. When Noah has completed his physical therapy, he also gets a job at Kaiba Corp, working with Mokuba to lighten his burden.

After a couple years working together and hanging out, Noah agrees to start dating Mokuba.

Noah has become almost as tall as Mokuba. They are now a couple and looking into adopting their first child.
