"Naruto! Slow down!" Sakura called.
"No way! Last one there's an Akatsuki guy!" he called back.
"Oh man… what a loser…"
Sasuke sighed and rubbed his face. This whole "camp-with-your-team-to-get-to-know-them-better" idea really made him wanna smack Kakashi and the other jounins.
"Hm… Sasuke…" Kakashi said quietly.
"What?"
"Here." He said, and tossed a large, not-to-mention ultra heavy bag to him.
"Wha-OOF!" he coughed as he toppled to the ground, along with the bag.
"Watch it… I got some important stuff in there…" Kakashi said.
Sasuke sat up. "What do you want me to do with this!" he asked angrily.
"The bag..?"
Sasuke nodded.
"I want you to carry it for me."
"Why should I do that?"
"… Cause it's heavy… plus, it builds character." He shrugged and walked past the Uchiha smiling. Sasuke sat there bewildered.
A few hours later they arrived at their site.
"Uh… nrg… pant pant…"
"Oh Sasuke… you've finally arrived!" Kakashi smiled.
"Sasuke!" Sakura cried and ran over to help him.
"Nyahahahaha! Sasuke's the Akasuki guy!" Naruto laughed.
"Baka, CAN IT! Kakashi… WHAT THE HELL IS IN THIS BAG?"
"Can't say… top secret…" He then yoinked the bag away from him and plopped it beside his sleeping bag.
"Hmm… you guys hungry?"
"Oh yeah! I only had 2 bowls of pork ramen, 4 sandwiches, some rice balls and omelette before I left!" Naruto cried.
Sakura whacked him in the arm and said "Hai, sensei… we are..."
"I'm fine…" Sasuke mumbled and pouted.
"Well then… you better get busy." Kakashi smiled and leaned against a tree.
"Hmm..?" they asked.
"It's going to be dark soon… you can't hunt what you can't see."
"H-hunt!" Sakura cried.
"Psh..." Sasuke said. He got up, grabbed some extra kunais and left. Sakura scrambled some of her own projectiles together and chased after him.
"Sasuke-kuuuuuun! Wait up!"
Naruto just sat there.
"You gonna go… or starve?" Kakashi asked.
"We seriously get to hunt?"
"That's what I said."
"So… we kill our own food… eat our own food?" he asked again.
"That's the just of it."
"Cool! Oh man! I'M GONNA CATCH A LION!" he cried.
"Not screaming like that you won't." Sasuke smirked. He held two birds and a few fish. Behind him was Sakura, also holding a large armful of fish.
"Nani..?" he blinked. "Back already?"
"Yeah… but we never said we were sharing, so you go ahead and catch that non-existent lion while we eat…"
Naruto pouted for a moment, and then stood up. "Fine! I'll get ten times more I bet!" He stuck out his tongue and then headed off into the forest.
It had been almost twenty minutes and all that Naruto had caught was a squirrel.
"Stupid Sasuke… bet he cheated…"
He heard some rustling in the bushes and turned to it, prepared to kick its ass, no matter what it was that popped out.
A lion…? he hoped.
A body fell out of the bushes and onto the ground.
"Oh!"
"Hinata…?" Naruto asked, still examining the body.
"N-Naruto-kun! Oh… what are you doing over here?" she asked, probably wondering why the hell he was near her campsite.
"I'm hunting!" he said proudly.
"Is that what you caught so far?" she asked, pointing to the bloody mass in his arms that was a squirrel.
"Er... yeah… but I'm gonna catch a lion!"
"Oh… d-do you need any help?" she offered.
"Course not! Hahahaha!" he grinned.
"Oh… okay then…"
For once he noticed the hurt look in her eyes and felt a pang of guilt in his stomach.
"Well… I don't need help… I wouldn't mind it though…" he ran his hand behind his head in embarrassment.
"R-really?" she asked.
"Yeah! I'd love your help Hinata!"
She blushed. "W-well… I don't think lions live in this forest… at all… so I don't know how we are going to catch one…"
"There aren't?" he asked, almost in tears.
"No… Gomen Naruto-kun…"
