"You're moving!!!!!???"
Ai gave Rosie a concerning look, "Yes, I'm moving. I wrote you a letter about it."
It's been five years since the U.F.Os came to Animal Village. Since then Ai has grown up a little, and so has the town. Tom Nook left for greener pastures—taking his store with him. As did most of the service workers who lived there. Some villagers left after that too, and soon, the town was halfway empty. It's no wonder that she was leaving too. After all, her dream had ended that night, five years ago.
"But why??" Rosie asked, clearly heartbroken.
"There's nothing more for me here," Ai picked up her bags, and they started walking to the train station, "I already ate my cherry pie."
"Hmph, there you go again with the cherry pie what does that even mean?"
It was a metaphor her and her distant best friend Margie made up. Talents, far off dreams... that's what it meant. You can't just have one slice of a dream then shove the rest in the back of your mind. You'll just forget about it. That's why you gotta eat it all up in one sitting. Of course, Ai didn't tell Rosie any of that, she just patted the little cat's head and smiled.
After a minute or two, the train arrived.
Rosie glanced up at Ai, tears covered every bit of her face.
"Good bye, Rosie, I'll write to you whenever I get a chance, everyday," the girl stepped on the train.
The cat jumped up, "You didn't even tell me where you were going!!"
"To New Leaf City!"
With that, the passenger car was off. Ai watched out the window as Rosie became nothing more than a speck in the background. You're always supposed to eat the whole pie, but... what happens when you're done? What do you do then? That's what she wondered for five years and six months in that village. Then one day, she realized something. Nobody just eats one cherry pie. You make new ones, and this was it. This was her new cherry pie.
