Heart beats
Palpitations
Running in rhythm
As she takes slow steps
To the altar
Eyes flutter closed
Shaking breaths
And they flutter open again
She looks at him
Through a veil of thin lace
He smiles
He knows she's worried
She smiles bravely back
And takes his arm
He is just as scared but more excited
Knowing that something,
Finally,
Is going right.
Can he kiss her now?
He laces his fingers with hers
She smiles, not looking at him
Focusing on the words binding them
Till death.
She stands
Heart fluttering more now she feels
His strong presence
Firmly beside her.
Out of the corner of his eye
He sees her speak
He can hardly hear
Still looking at her, he speaks his part
She is smiling
Bright and joyful
Her eyes are welling
How much longer would he have to wait
To finally make her his
At long last,
He can kiss her.
She turns
He lifts the veil
Something inside her is taken away
There is no going back after this
He leans in
Before kissing her he whispers
"Excuse me, Mrs. Malfoy, do you mind?"
She smiles, putting her hand behind her husband's neck to draw him closer.
"Oh, no, Mr. Malfoy, not at all."
