Merry Christmas devoted readers! I hope everyone had a great Christmas, and got what they wanted! I know I did! Now here's a gift for all of you. My Slayers: A Christmas Special!
Thank you to Guineapig3 for letting me borrow Zara for this fic. I hope I do him justice!
This is not in response to the Christmas writing challenge, because it didn't exsist when I started writing this story.
I will be posting 12 chapters; one chapter on each of the 12 Days of Christmas!
Enough with my rambling, on with the fic!
Disclaimer: I don't own Slayers
Chapter One: Snowmen
"I bet that me, Gourry and Zara can make a better snowman faster than you guys!" Lina yelled to Zelgadis and Amelia.
"Prepare to get beaten, Miss Lina!" Amelia yelled back.
The Slayers were enjoying the first snowfall of winter in one of the many courtyards of Sailune's royal palace. Lina wore a red turtleneck with a black fur-lined cape, and her regular red leggings, with fur-lined white boots and gloves. A yellow scarf, earmuffs and her classic shoulder pads finished off the look. Gourry's clothes included a light blue turtleneck, and fur-lined dark blue boots. He had a blue and green striped scarf wrapped around his neck, which complemented his eyes nicely. Blue furry earmuffs completed his look. Zara wore a turtleneck and a light blue cloak, and wore blue earmuffs that stood out against his brown hair. A green scarf finished up the look. Amelia wore a white turtleneck, fur lined boots and gloves. She wore a white and purple fur-lined cloak, pink earmuffs, and a scarf completed her look. Zelgadis was, well, normal, even after Amelia pleaded with him to wear a Santa hat. (She had even tried puppy dog eyes.)
"Amelia, do we really need to do this?" Zelgadis asked.
"Of course, Mr. Zelgadis! In the name of justice!" Amelia exclaimed.
"You do realize that that doesn't make an ounce of sense?"
"So? Don't you want to build a snowman?"
"No."
"Why not?"
"Why should we?"
"I asked you first!"
"…fine," Zelgadis said in defeat.
"Yeah!" Amelia cheered.
"Come on guys! Gourry, Zara and I have already started building the torso!" Lina yelled.
"Miss Lina, don't you think three against two isn't fair?" Amelia whined.
"Well if you two would stop bickering like an old, married couple, maybe you could've started!" Lina yelled back. Amelia and Zelgadis both blushed, and started building up the body of their snowman, trying to avoid each other's eyes.
"Hey Lina, don't you think we should handicap ourselves or something?" Zara asked his mentor.
"No way, you and Gourry are handicaps enough," Lina joked.
"Lina, I can't find a carrot for the nose," Gourry complained, munching on one as he spoke.
"Gourry! You jellyfish! You're eating the only one we brought!" Lina yelled, snatching the carrot out of his mouth, hitting him with a bunny slipper, and sticking said carrot on the snowman's face.
"Oh…" Gourry said. 'Oops!"
"Lina, you put it on wrong," Zara said reaching up and putting the carrot on the right way.
"I knew that," Lina said to her apprentice.
"Miss Lina, we're almost done with the face!" Amelia sang.
"Wha-, oh no! Amelia and Zel are ahead of us! Move it, guys!" Lina yelled. Both teams started to work double-time.
"DONE!" They both said at the same time.
"Wait, who won?" Zara asked, looking at Lina.
"It's obvious, isn't it? We won!" Lina yelled.
"No, we won!" Amelia yelled.
"Wait, I'm confused, who won?" Gourry asked, not following the conversation at all.
"WE DID!" Lina and Amelia yelled at the same time.
"How about we call it a draw?" Zelgadis asked, trying to calm down the fiery females.
"NO!" the two sorceresses yelled in unison.
"Well, I think that it was a tie," a new voice said. Everyone looked up at the closest tree to see Xellos lounging in the branches in his usual clothes, wearing a Santa hat.
"Hey Val!" another voice yelled. "Wait for me!" A small ancient dragon fluttered down and transformed, and a golden dragon touched down a few seconds later and also transformed.
"Auntie Lina!" the boy yelled, and ran up to hug Lina.
"Val! How's it going?" Lina exclaimed, bending down and scooping up the kid. He was wearing a cute red sweatshirt with a Christmas tree on it, and a dark green scarf and pants. Brown furry earmuffs, fur-lined boots and gloves finished off his winter dress.
"Miss Filia!" Amelia said, "and Mr. Xellos as well. What a surprise!"
"It was all Val's idea," Xellos said, jumping down from the tree branch he was standing on.
"I wanted to spend some time with my friends!" Val chirped from Lina's arms.
"Is it alright if we celebrate the holiday with you?" Filia asked Amelia. She wore her usual pink dress, and her white poncho and cape were fur-lined, as were her gloves and boots. A purple and white striped scarf finished the look.
"Of course, Miss Filia!"
Lina put Val down and he ran off to greet Zara. Soon the two boys were running around in the snow, laughing and throwing snowballs at each other.
"Hey, that looks kinda fun!" Gourry said.
"Yeah!" Lina agreed, looking at the two kids.
"Why don't we join in?" Amelia asked the gang.
"Count me out," Zelgadis said.
"But Mr. Zelgadis, you could hit Xellos with the snowballs!" Filia said joyfully.
Xellos sweat-dropped. "She always gets extremely happy when I can get hit by something."
"Hmm… yeah, alright. If I can hit Xellos, I'm okay with it," Zelgadis said.
"Hey Val, Zara, get over here!" Lina yelled to the two boys.
"What is it, Lina?" Zara asked as he and Val came over.
"We're going to have a team snowball fight!" Lina exclaimed. "You and Val are team captains."
"Well, I refuse to be on the same team as Xellos!" Filia said.
"Um… alright," Zara said. "Then you can be on my team, Filia!" Filia came and stood by Zara.
"My turn!" Val said. "I choose daddy!" he said, pointing at Xellos.
Xellos smirked. "Val obviously knows who's best!" he said, and walked over to stand next to his son.
"Xellos is NOT your dad!" Filia yelled.
"Lina," Zara said.
"Good choice, kid!" Lina praised her apprentice. She joined Filia.
"Aunty Amelia!" Val said.
"Zelgadis," Zara said.
"Prepare to be crushed, Xellos," Zelgadis said menacingly as he walked past the monster. Xellos sweat-dropped.
"Uncle Gourry!" Val said.
"What?" Gourry asked.
"Just go over there, Jellyfish!" Lina yelled, pointing at Val.
"Okay!" Gourry went to stand by Val.
The final teams were: Zara, Lina, Zelgadis and Filia verses Val, Xellos, Amelia and Gourry. Let the chaos begin… in the next chapter!
Read and Review! Look forward to chapter two coming tomorrow! I will be posting the Slayer's winter fashions on Devientart under the same pename soon.
