Chapter One
Rey
A cool draft brushed across her face as Rey dug for parts. The wind howled eerily through a gigantic engine. She silently rejoiced when she masterfully pulled out the part she had been after with a satisfying click. She blew at it to get some dust off. She knew it would give her at least a half-portion's worth of food.
Rey's parents left her on Jakku when she was five years of age. Since, she relied on her mechanical and technical gifts to get a meal every night. When her parents left her, they gave her false hope that they'd return some day. She still counted the days they were gone even after more than a decade. Down inside her, though, she knows she's been waiting for nothing.
She would have to come to terms with it soon. Everything was going to change that fateful night. Rey would have to make a detrital choice: move on, and discover gifts she never knew she had and friends she didn't know she could have—or stay rooted in Jakku, ignorant of the war raging in her galaxy, holding on to one false hope for the rest of her life.
First couple chapters are going to be very small, introducing the five main characters: Finn, Rey, Han, Kylo, and Poe.
