For CFLA's May Mest (Doranbolt Madness), I am bringing you a sweet and sad tribute to the fallen. The song used for this story is 'See you again' by Wiz Khalifa (feat. Charlie Puth), a fitting tribute if you ask me.

Disclaimer: The Crack Fiction Liberation Army (CFLA) is an independent group of authors, specializing in unconventional pairings. We, as aspiring professionals, participate in group sponsored events most of which contain Adult Material, and as such our membership is restricted to 18+.

Also, I do not own Fairy Tail in any capacity… though I would love to one day be considered as talented as its creator, Hiro Mashima.

Atop a grassy hill, not far from the wreckage that was once the center of a man's whole existence, dozens of monuments reached their way into the sky; towering black obelisks casting long shadows over the faces of the handful of visitors.

First you both go out your way
And the vibe is feeling strong
And what's small turns to a friendship
A friendship turns into a bond
And that bond will never be broken
And the love will never get lost
And when brotherhood come first
Then the line will never be crossed
Established it on our own
When that line had to be drawn
And that line is what we reach
So remember me when I'm gone

A frown marred the face of one young man as he sank down on the grass next to a simple head stone. In his hands, two dark bottles of spirits; he popped the top off both setting one on the stone before taking a deep swallow from the second.

How could we not talk about family when family's all that we got?
Everything I went through you were standing there by my side
And now you gonna be with me for the last ride

"So old friend, I out rank you now. I don't understand why they continue to promote me, it's not like I've done anything special. I…" The young man paused to take another drink of his spirits, choking slightly as the burn of alcohol slid down his throat. "I'm just doing what you would."

So let the light guide your way, yeah
Hold every memory as you go
And every road you take will always lead you home, home

The young man tipped the full bottle, splashing a healthy dose of liquid on the grass in front of himself. "You were always the better man." He held up his own bottle, a crooked smile twisting the edges of his lips. "See, I've come right back to the drink in the face of it all… just like I did when… that horrible…" His brow furrowed, his dark eyes misting at the memories. "This is the last time, my friend." He took one final swig before dumping the rest of the bottle on the ground. "I'll live it for both of us, bring order to this horrible world, one misdeed at a time. That is my promise to you." The man ran a hand through his shaggy black hair before rising to his feet. "I won't come again until the work is finished, old friend. I'll tell you the tales when we meet in the next life."

The cork was replaced in the bottle before it was settled next to the stone. The young man lightly patted the top of the grave marker as he passed. "I'm off to save to world Lahar, wish me luck."

It's been a long day without you, my friend
And I'll tell you all about it when I see you again
We've come a long way from where we began
Oh, I'll tell you all about it when I see you again

Short and sweet.

Once again I thank you for the continued support.
