Christian,
I know I said that I didn't love you. I know I said I chose the Maharajah. I know that I walked away from you as you screamed my name in misery. I know I said and did all these things...
But Christian...believe me when I say that I never stopped loving you. I loved you from the first time I saw your shining eyes…your brilliant smile…I love you…not the Duke. You are my angel...my heart and soul...you are my Christian.
I suppose you must loathe me now for what I did to you. I loathe myself for all the angst I brought upon you. I beg you to forgive me…please forgive and believe that I love you. I only hurt you because...because.... I'm dying Christian...and the Duke…he will kill you if I ever see you again. I know it must all sound so crazy Christian, that I'm dying the Duke wants to kill you…but you must believe me when I say that not once did my heart and passion ever waver about loving you. And that I only did it to protect you…even if it meant breaking both our hearts.
So now I suppose I'll tuck this letter away for no one to find. For I never intended to send it to you...only to write it. To say to you in my own way that I'm sorry and that I still love you. Come what may...I love you...till the end of time.
