Summary: (Short one-shot) Grissom finally accepts Sara's invitation to dinner. Something happens, read to find out. (Yeah, I suck at summaries)

Let's See What Happens…

It was a slow day in the Las Vegas Crime Lab, only five minutes until the end of another long shift. Sara Sidle had been planning her meeting with Grissom after shift all day. Maybe he would finally say yes, after the endless no's.

She opened the door to his office, full of bugs, animal parts in jars and the endless wall of Entomology text books.

"Hey Griss." She said brightly, with her infamous gap toothed smile.

"Hello Sara, you said earlier you wanted to speak with me."

"Do you want to have dinner with me?" she blurted.

"Sara… I thought we..." he stuttered, obviously tongue-tied.

"Please, let's see what happens. Please Grissom." She pleaded quietly.

"Okay, where do you want to go?" He asked as they walked out of his office and towards the empty parking lot.

"It's a surprise, I'll drive."

(In Sara's mind)

I can't believe he said yes. Now, what will I make? I didn't think of that… um. Pasta, yes pasta, I will make pasta for him.

(In Grissom's mind)

I have a song for her. Our anthem. Should I put in the CD player? Or wait until we get to her destination? What will she say?

Sara turned to him and smiled brightly as they put the Tahoe into park.

"Your apartment?" he asked, puzzled.

In Sara's apartment

"Sara. I have something for you."

She could tell by the look in his eyes that he was excited, nervous and afraid. All at the same time. And he handed her a CD.

"I made it a while back; I meant to give it to you. But, I couldn't find the right moment."

"Thank you Grissom. Let's play it now." She smiled, as she found the CD player and pressed play.

"Can you forgive me again?
I don't know what I said
But I didn't mean to hurt you

I heard the words come out
I felt that I would die
It hurt so much to hurt you

Then you look at me
You're not shouting anymore
You're silently broken

I'd give anything now
to kill those words for you

Each time I say something I regret I cry "I don't want to lose you."
But somehow I know that you will never leave me, yeah.

'Cause you were made for me
Somehow I'll make you see
How happy you make me

I can't live this life
Without you by my side
I need you to survive

So stay with me
You look in my eyes and I'm screaming inside that I'm sorry.

And you forgive me again
You're my one true friend
And I never meant to hurt you"

A single tear rolled down his innocent face. "I'm sorry Sara, it's my fault. Please don't blame yourself for our problems."

"I'm sorry too Grissom." Sara sobbed. As Grissom quietly guided her towards the sofa.

"Can we start over, Grissom?" she asked quietly. Wiping the tears from his sombre face.

"Yes, Sara. Let's go back. We'll go back to the beginning."
