Chapter 17
Rory was walking towards the coffee cart located near her dorm when she saw Marty standing in line. They had not talked in a few days and they both knew that it was because of her always studying and being on the paper. She snuck up behind him and stood there until he turned around and nearly ran straight into her.
"Man Rory you nearly gave me a heart attack! You shouldn't sneak up on people like that!" Marty said smiling a little.
"Well what can I say that was my plan after all?" Rory said laughing and smiling.
As they turned to walk away someone bumped into Marty.
"Oh sorry." Marty said as he and Rory made their way to keep walking.
"No, seriously, you couldn't see me there?" The guy that had bumped into Marty asked.
Rory took notice that the guy that had bumped into Marty had brown hair and was walking around with two other guys one had a darker shade of brown hair and the other had blonde hair. Rory suspected that the blonde girl with them was the blonde's girlfriend by the way that they were hanging on one another and that they were making out. 'More like eating each other's faces.' Rory thought to herself with humor.
"Not everyone's staring at you Colin." The darker brown haired guy said in a heavy Australian accent.
"Hey, I know you. No, wait-wait, don't tell me. I'm seeing a uniform of some sort." The blonde said to Marty after he almost finished detangling himself from the blonde.
"Maytag repairman." Came the Australian's sarcastic remark to the others with him.
Marty just stood there taking everything that these guys threw at him and said nothing until he gathered himself enough and stuttered out. "I've bar-tended for you - for your parties."
The blonde made a face that told Rory he recognized who Marty was now and said. "That's right, you have. You're a talented man."
The blonde turned slightly to Rory and said. "He makes a kick-ass margarita."
Marty laughed and said thanks but Rory could tell that all he really wanted to do was high tail it out of there and never think of this again. The blonde stood there and kept talking to them, she noticed that the way these guys and even the girl carried themselves told her that they thought that they were better than others. At this point all Rory really wanted to do was get back to her dorm and she was thinking about saying this exact thing to them when the next question that came from the blondes mouth made her forget her wants from that second because she was infuriated with the guy.
"It's good to see you again. What's your name?" The blonde asked but you could tell by the way that he had asked the question he really didn't care about the answer.
"Marty. Uh this is Rory." Marty said timidly gesturing towards her when he said her name.
"Hi. So, assuming your services are still for hire this year, your financial situation hasn't changed at all?" The blonde asked as if he already knew the answer.
"Nope." Marty said showing embarrassment at being asked this question out in the open and it just made Rory that more mad.
"Good. Okay, I'll give you a call. Where are you living now?"
"Branford"
"Oh, excellent - Branford. All right. Good running into you"
The blonde said as he turned and started to walk away with his arm slung over the shoulders of the blonde bimbo that was with them. The guy that she learned was named Colin and the Australian turned to follow their friend the guy named Colin turned to Marty and said dryly. "Nice shirt." He then turns to face Rory and says sarcastically. "I can see what you see in him." The blonde apparently heard him because he had stopped walking and turned slightly to say to him. "Don't be an ass Colin"
The guy Colin put on a surprised and fake hurt expressing and said. "Me? Never. I'm a friend to all people, large and very, very small."
After the three guys and girl had finally left and neither Rory nor Marty could see them anymore, Marty turned to Rory and said. "I kind of hate those guys." Rory shook her head and rolled her eyes saying. "Really? I can't see why that is." After they had finished their coffee and said goodbye each went on with their day.
The next morning Rory gets up, gets ready and goes to the coffee cart that is near her dorm while she is standing there someone bumps into her when she looks up she sees that it is the blonde guy from yesterday with the same two guys but with a different blonde girl making out with her enough not have noticed that he had bumped into someone. Rory couldn't stand the sight of it any longer so she says.
The next morning Rory got up and got ready to start her day. She went to get coffee at the coffee cart that was right near her dorm. While standing in line waiting, someone bumped into her from behind, she turned around to see who it was and why it was they hadn't said excuse me or anything. When she turned around she saw the same blonde guy from the day before and his two friends the only difference that she could see was that they had a different blonde bimbo with them. All the anger that she had felt towards them yesterday resurfaced ten-fold. What made her angrier was the fact that they were making out so much with each other so much that neither of them had realized that they had bumped into someone or that they were in public and too add to her anger the two guys with them looked entertained. 'Again it's more like they are eating each other's faces.' Rory thought to herself again.
"Ummmm EXCUSE ME! If you don't mind I would really like to keep my food down and the coffee that I will soon be drinking but that is going to be damn near impossible if the two of you keep eating each other's faces and using me as a damn wall! So it would be really appreciated if you would GET THE HELL OFF ME AND GET A DAMN ROOM OF YOUR OWN! YOU'RE IN PUBLIC FOR CHRISTS SAKE! I think I can speak for most of us here we would rather not start our day off with seeing such a disturbing and nasty sight, I think myself and some other people here might be scared for life." Rory said yelling in the beginning to get their attention but she meant to stop yelling and just talk to them but it didn't end up being that way.
The blonde guy and three others along with everyone else in the area looked surprised to hear her say anything to them let alone yell at them, but you could tell that the two guys with the blonde thought it was funny as well as almost everyone else, but the other people excluding the blonde guy and the three people with him look as though they agreed with everything that she had said.
The guy with brown hair that she could remember was named Colin finally got over his surprise and said smiling. "Who would have guessed that someone so tiny could have such a loud and demanding voice? I think we might have met our match men."
The guy that she remembered as the Australian just laughed and nodded as though he agreed.
The blonde just stood there looking amused finally he got out of his own head and said. "I'm truly sorry that we bumped into you, but I can't help but notice that you look familiar to me like I have either met you somewhere before or know you somehow."
"Ohhh is that right? You recognize me so that must mean you either know me or have met me before is that correct?" Rory asked sarcastically
"Yeah but I don't quite remember where I would have met you before let alone where I would even know you from." The blonde said looking as confused as he sounded.
"Really? I seem to know you from somewhere as well I just can't put my finger on it." Rory said as she paused for a couple of seconds making it seem as though she was thinking about it and was confused then said. "Ohhh wait wait wait I know where it is that you either know me from or have met me" She said pausing again trying to give him the opportunity to save himself and remember where it is that they have met before and know each other from, the looks that the other two guys had on their faces told Rory that they had some idea about what she was talking about.
"Would you mind telling me because I seem to have forgotten and I'm not really good with people I don't know that well?" The blonde said trying to work his charm.
"Ohhh poor baby seems to of forgotten. Sad face I think I might just cry. Would you like me to enlighten you?" Rory asked pouting a little and he just nodded in response. "Well I hope that this helps you remember and clears things up for you because I would hate for you to keep forgetting things. I'll start from the beginning to make things easier for you. You see yesterday you and I were introduced and you wanna know the most ironic thing. Oh you do? Well I'll tell you the ironic thing is that we were introduced right here in this very spot by my friend Marty, but I'll let you in on a little secret you were with a different blonde bimbo yesterday and eating each other's faces as well, oh and of course you were a complete ass along with the two stooges behind you. I'll even go as far as to say that you don't even remember that and the only reason I can say that is because of the look that is on your face right now." Rory ranted to him and by the end of it mostly everyone was impressed that she wasn't breathless and that she could go on for so long.
Rory could tell that he was amused at the beginning of her rant and it just kept going up and up during the whole thing, she also saw that both of his friends that were behind him had looked a little offended at some of the things that she had said but also amused at the expense of their friend.
"I do seem to be forgetting things lately so I would love for you to enlighten me. Really we met yesterday? Hmmm doesn't ring a bell and could you tell me who Marty is?" He asked her you could tell that the look that she must have given him was a deadly pissed one because both of his friends took way more than two steps back away from them, and looked like they were holding in laughter as well but Rory just got more pissed because she could tell by the amused filled yet questioning looks that they had on their faces meant that they didn't remember Marty either. 'I'll get to the two of them at a later time but I'm going to deal with the bigger ass right now and that seems to be their dear old friend here.' Rory thought to herself, she fought hard with herself to be composed when she answered his question.
"To the best of my knowledge based on what was said between the two of you yesterday was that Marty had bartended for you all before, and you recognized him from somewhere you just couldn't place it so your two stooges there made fun of him even then it didn't really seem that you recognized him until he told you all then he introduced us, but a lot of good that seemed to do considering you don't seem to remember him anymore or even me." Rory ranted again earning a half smile from the blonde guy.
"Sorry again but like I said before I'm not that good with people I don't know well and the same goes for names as well." He said changing his half smile to a smirk.
Rory rolled her eyes, crossed her arms over her chest and thought to herself. 'Does he really think that his Casanova crap is going to work on me? And if he does he seriously has another thing coming.'
"Sure you are." She said rolling her eyes and continued talking. "Like I can really believe that, who do you think you are the King?" Rory asked sarcastically as she turned and started to walk away only to stop when she realized that he was trying to talk to her some more. She turned back around to face him and as she did so she realized another thing almost everyone was still there listening and starting at them. 'Well this is just great I make a scene and make unwanted attention.' She thought to herself as walked a little back to when they were talking before.
"Hi I'm Logan Huntzberger by the way. Who are you?" He said then asked as though his name should really mean that much to her.
Rory stood there with her arms crossed over her chest and a look on her face that said to him. And-I-Care-What-Your-Name-Is-Because? 'Does he really think that his name should impress me or make me fall to my knees? Please.' She thought to herself. "Well I have to say that it was very nice to meet you, and again my name is Rory." She said as she turned and started to walk away again.
"So that's how it is? I give you my name and I don't even get a last name?" Logan asked surprised but not showing it. 'Well that is defiantly a first. No girl anywhere has ever stood in front of me, my father or my family and not shown any regard at all to what my last name it.' He thought to himself.
"Nope" She said popping the 'p'. "Now I'm going to go to class since this conversation seems to have taken up so much time and you should really be glad that I am in somewhat of a good mood otherwise you all might be dead for making me skip my coffee this morning though I may not of been able to drink it anyway with that nasty display that the two of you decided to put on this morning. Yikes just gives me the creeps even thinking about it. Just a heads up you might want to watch where you're going next time and not just use anything that you come across as a wall to eat each other's faces on. You don't want to put people what I went through, and going through and will probably continue to go through all day. I think I just might be sick at this moment even thinking about it, and it might pop into my head at random times today so I might as well be sick for the rest of the day. How am I going to be able to eat or drink without thinking about that? Ewww Yuck." Rory ranted again making a nasty face at the end.
"Harsh." Logan said as he made a face.
"Ohh I'm sorry did I hurt your feelings?" Rory asked with sarcasm.
"Actually you did." Logan retorted thinking that he could guilt her into feeling bad.
"Whatever. I really don't have time for this right now. So when you're done trying to use that guilt trip thing on me I really have to get to class." Rory said then turned and walked away leaving Logan, Colin, Finn as well as everyone else to just stand there and stare after her, in amazement, awe, surprise, shock and even a little bit of anger for some people.
After Rory was out of sight Logan just stared after her then said to Colin not even bothering to look at him. "Colin go dig up anything and everything that you can find out about her. I want to know everything that there is to know about her, from where she was born to what it is that she eats for breakfast. I don't care what it is that you have to do to get the information just do it. If I even have to pay for it I will, just get it for me no excuses."
"Now why in God's green Earth would I do such a thing? To me it seems as though she's a Hell Cat and if she found out about this not only would I be dead but so would both you and Finn." Colin asked with suspicion, surprise, and sarcasm.
"Because I asked you to do it. Now go and do it. Why is it that I am always questioned on things?" Logan huffed at Colin and watched him walk away, he finally realized that he still had his arm around the blonde girl's shoulders the whole time during their debate, conversation, whatever you want to call it, the blonde came to stand in front of him and put her arms around his neck drawing him closer to her.
"Logy Bear how about you and I pick up right where that all too ordinary and boring looking girl rudely interrupted us?" The blonde asked talking in the most annoying voice he thought he had ever heard, along with a smile that he thought she meant to be alluring but just looked as though she was trying too hard.
"Sorry not in the mood anymore." Logan said distractedly and dismissively. At this the girl snatched her arms from around Logan's neck and walked away with a disgusted look on her face. When Logan looked back at his friend he saw that Finn was staring at him with a confused yet surprised look on his face.
"What is with that look on your face Finn?" Logan snapped.
"Nothing mate, nothing at all. I've just never seen you turn down a what did Love call it? Ohh yess she called it eating each other's face session, yeah that is what I'll call it now. So you've never turned down a eating each other's face session before unless you were sick or something. I have also have never seen or even heard you ask Colin to dig up any and every single piece of information on a girl before." Finn said pretending surrender by raising his hands in the air.
"It's nothing Finn, nothing I just wanted to know her last name that's all." Logan said as if it meant nothing.
"Mate if that's all you wanted to know you wouldn't have gotten Colin to look up EVERYTHING that he could and can find on her. You would have just asked him to look into her school records or something like that. That lovely Sheila has gotten under your skin hasn't she?" Finn asked in his know-it-all voice.
"I just want to know her last name that's all nothing more, nothing less. She did not get under my skin, I have very thick skin almost impenetrable. Now can we please get some coffee and go back to the dorm." Logan huffed walking to get back in line.
"Sure it is mate, sure it is." Finn said following Logan with a knowing smile on his face.
