He had found her pressed against the wall of his building sleeping. It was the first time he had seen her and the memory would forever be etched into his brain. The view of her chest rising up and down as she inhaled and exhaled fascinated him as he looked down upon her sleeping form. The way the sun glinted off of her dark skin. The way her hair turned purple due to its dark black color. He had never seen someone that could make him pause even when they were sleeping. He suddenly wanted to know the color of her eyes. But he played it off as a one time thing seeing as he was just in school and had to focus on becoming Taichou.
The second encounter was different. She was not sleeping but she was not awake. She was in that odd state of in between. She could either be meditating or sitting there with her eyes closed. He looked at her as she sat there in all her glory. She was simply breathing in and out and he walked backwards as her nose twitched slightly. Her face would be etched into his mind forever and since then he knew he wouldn't be able to stop thinking about her.
The third time was different. She was awake but her eyes were simply closed and Yoruichi was talking to her as Uruhara walked on her left. She simply nodded as she continued walking and he began to wonder. But he went back to walking to his compound.
It was the fourth time he saw her that he finally got to see her eyes. It was when he was trying to catch up with Yoruichi as she flashed stepped-she had provoked him he swears!. He bumped into her as she came out of no where into his flash step.
"Sorry" she had murmured and looked at him with bright brown eyes.
The fifth time changed everything. She was once again pressed against the wall. Her arm was across her stomach as she inhaled and exhaled. She looked more relaxed than she ever had whenever he saw her. "So your just gonna stand there?" she asked, eyes still closed. He stepped back.
"What?" he asked confused. "Oh please like I wouldn't notice every time your around. Your cute. It's impossible not to notice you" she said smiling. "I um...I thought you were asleep" he said.
"Yeah that's what a lot of people think" she said. Their friendship was just starting to form. But of course like many things: All good things must come to an end.
"WHERE IS SHE!" Byakuya yelled as the hollow attacked another group of Soul Reapers.
"We don't know sir" one of the lower squad members yelled getting hit. 'Please be okay' he thought to himself running towards a figure.
"By-Byakuya" the girl gasped out holding her bleeding stomach.
"Akira" he yelled sliding to a stop. "Sorry I couldn't kick hollow ass with you" she said giving him a smile. "I really do love you, ya know?" she murmured her human slang coming out.
"Don't say that" He said looking at her as her breaths came out in short puffs.
"I love you. Remember that" she wheezed out before slumping into the wall. Had there been no blood it would seem like she was sleeping in the position she usually took a nap in. But there was blood...a lot of blood.
