Kurt and Blaine were outside in Kurt's backyard. They were lying on a blanket, looking at the stars together. Kurt inhaled deeply, moved closer to his boyfriend and put his head on his chest. He closed his eyes and just listened to Blaine's heartbeat, feeling the rise and fall of his chest with his breath. Blaine's wrapped his arm around Kurt's torso and started tracing little circles on his upper arm. It was peacefully quiet out, even for Lima. All that could be heard was their quiet breaths, and the quiet, uninterrupted chirping of crickets.

"You know," Blaine said pensively, "each one of the stars in the sky could represent people. There are billions and billions out there, each one different than the next. Even when you can't see them, you know that they're there. You don't always notice them, but when you start looking, you see it. The brightest one. And it's always been there…" his voice trailed off, and Kurt looked up to see his warm, hazel eyes deep in thought and on him.

The crickets seemed to have stopped chirping. A light shone quickly in their direction, suggesting that a car had just passed by, but Kurt didn't hear it. It was so quiet that he was sure Blaine could hear the thump, thump thump-ing of his heart.

"It was really meant to be, wasn't it? Not just some coincidence." Blaine said, keeping his eyes fixed onto the mesmerizing blue of Kurt's. Kurt, feeling captivated and almost paralyzed, somehow conjured a noise of agreement in his throat, which came out squeaky and unclear. Blaine quietly chuckled under his breath and continued, "You could've asked anyone else to help on the staircase. Puck could've made Finn spy on us, instead. But you didn't. Puck didn't. And now, look at us."

His eyes were shining brighter than any of the stars above them. Kurt opened his mouth to speak, but he didn't know what to say. Any sound would have gotten stuck in his throat, anyways.

The two remained there for a while, Kurt propped up on his arms, Blaine on his side. Kurt had a million thoughts running through his mind, but had no way to put them into words. Blaine seemed to understand, giving Kurt a knowing smile. He brought his hand to the side of Kurt's face and lifted his chin towards him with his thumb, kissing Kurt tenderly. When he pulled away, Kurt felt the world like never before. Looking up at the beautiful night sky, his thoughts finally made sense. He knew exactly what he wanted to say.

"You are my universe."
