DISCLAIMER: I don't own the characters of the story.
AUTHOR NOTE: I wrote this quite in a hurry, thinking about people who don't have the chance of seeing the sunset on the sea. I think it's very romantic, so if you don't like that stay away.
English is not my first language, I did my best, I apologize for any mistake left.
Michael rented a small yacht. He knew some important paper was hidden on the bottom of the ocean, a couple miles away from the coast.
He asked Fi to backup him while he was submerged. Fi wasn't happy about it, but she accepted. Only God knows how many trouble Michael could attract in the middle of the ocean, she told herself.
They sailed in the late afternoon. Fi stayed on the deck sunbathing, while Mike went to the helm.
He went further then their target, and the coast disappeared behind the horizon. He shut off the engine.
Fiona stood up as soon as she stopped hearing the hum from the boat and she frowned not seeing the coast in any direction.
When Mike appeared on the deck he held two glasses and a bottle of champagne.
"Fi, I think that papers can wait a day more."
She lifted her head to watch Mike, a little suspicious. When she met his eyes she felt the warmth in them. Her lips curved in a big smile.
"Do you?" She asked, pretending an inquisitive glare at him.
Michael carefully left the bottle and the glasses on a low table near the sunbed, the same Fiona used just until a few moments ago. Then he approached her.
All her suspicions vanished when Michael embraced her softly, and she returned the hug. She rested her head on his chest, enjoying his scent.
After a brief moment Mike guided her back to the sunbed, and they sat looking at the sea.
Mike filled the glasses and handed one to Fiona.
The sun was setting and a cool breeze blew on them, carrying the smell of the sea. Fiona couldn't avoid a light shiver.
Mike took off his jacket and placed it around Fiona's shoulder, he took his glass and then he pressed her at his chest with his free hand.
She turned her head to see him.
The sun touched the sea and at the same time Michael's lips touched Fiona's, just one innocent kiss.
She shifted a little to be more comfortable in Michael's arms, and they stared at the sunset.
The sea sparkled when the last rays of the sun colored every single wave and the few clouds lit up with all shades of pink and violet. Behind them the sky was getting darker and it reflected in their glasses making the shiny bubbles look like little pearls.
There was no need to talk, that moment was simply perfect.
