Summary: (Sark/Sydney-ish) Sark asks questions. Second person POV.

Disclaimer: I don't own anything.

_________

Why can't you kill her yourself? Wouldn't it be so easy to kill Sydney Bristow? Wouldn't that solve so much?

No, that would be too easy. Too neat. Cleaner than the lines of the designer suits that fit you so well.

Is it because you'd have her tortured and brain-dead before you'd get your hands bloody? Or is it because you wouldn't be able to do it? You could never look into those earthy brown eyes and snuff the life out of them.

Why Mr. Sark? Why can't you kill her?

Do you love her Mr. Sark? Do you really think you could love another human being more than you love yourself? Your vain little heart would never permit such frivolities.

Keep telling yourself you'd drink wine and toast her death, even though you know it isn't the truth. Take comfort in the lie.

You want to see her dead, though. Don't you?

Then why Mr. Sark? Why can't you kill Sydney Bristow?

Is it the dreams? The ones you share with her. You know, the dreams-memories, really-where she is your lover and she bucks and moans and scratches like the hellcat she is. Is it those sounds that wake you out of the night in a cold sweat?

It is, isn't it?

It's because you know that no matter how much you tell yourself you hate her, you're connected. You've been connected physically, mentally, spiritually, and all the other ways people of this earth can be connected.

She is you.

You are her.

Your paths are so intertwined, if you killed her, you'd really be killing yourself. Isn't that the truth Mr. Sark? Isn't that what you're afraid of?

Is she really your nemesis or is she your mirror?

You can't kill what you are. You have to slowly strip it away. Death would be sweet and you don't respond well to that and neither would she. She's a stronger breed than you can admit. There is power and mystery that radiates from her and it has grabbed hold of you.

How many people have you killed without blinking? More than your share to be sure and yet, you can't kill one insignificant woman.

Why Mr. Sark? Why?

_____

end.
