"Musa? Are you in here?" I asked while walking into the room Musa shared with her best friend, Tecna. Musa, the fairy of Music, and Princess of the planet Melody, was obviously not in her room. I started to walk out the door, but before I could, I heard a bunch of people shout "SURPRIZE!"
I turned around to see my friends all standing there behind a desk holding out presents, cake, and baloons. 'Oh, great', I thought, 'they remembered'
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY RIVEN!" shouted Musa, my girlfriend,as she came out from behing the desk and ran over to hug me.
"Hi, Musa. Hi guys." I said to them all as Musa pecked my cheek.
They all crowded around me and all started talking at once. Only one voice I could actually hear. Musa's. Her lovely angelic voice came out as if it were music. She was the best symphony anybody could ever hear.
"Come on Riven! Don't you want to open all of your gifts!" shouted Bloom exitedly.
"A party's not a party without gifts dude, thats what I always say." said Brandon as he wrapped his arm around Stella.
"Uhhhh-" I started, but I couldn't really come out with the right words.
I finally decided what to say. "You guys did a great job for nothing." I said, "I don't want a party."
They all looked shocked at the words I'd just spoken. Especially Musa.
"But, Riven........It's your birhday!" cried Musa.
"I DON'T WANT A PARTY!" I screamed as I ran outside. I didn't need to turn around to know that Musa had followed me.
"What's wrong Riven?" she asked in that sweet, melodious, tune of hers.
"I hate my birthday." I replied weakly.
"But, why, Riven? Birthdays are supposed to be happy. Your supposed to enjoy them!"
"Listen, Musa. I just, well, I.... I really just hate my birthday. Thats all."
"There's got to be more than that. I know there is." She said lightly
She ws right. If I could tell anybody then I knew it had to be her.
"My mom, gave me up on my birthday for money when I was little. Every birthday makes me think of her now." I said.
Musa looked at me sadly.
"Oh," she said softly.
I was happy when she made no other movement but to hug me and try to talk me into feeling better.
After about 20 minutes of just standing there, wrapped in eachother's arms and looking at stars, Musa looked up at my face.
Are you sure you dont want to go to the party? Their packing up now and if we dont go in there soon, it'll be too late."
I looked down at her and pressed my lips to hers for about 20 seconds.
"Nah, I answered when I came back up, "Ive got all the party I need right out here with you." I said before once again attatching my lips to hers.
