Will and Conn had been destined to be hunters all their lives. Being a hunter was a risky job as every day you would defeat monsters to keep the kingdom safe. Their father had been a hunter as did their grandfather. It ran in the family. Will had reached the of 17 which was the minimum age to go on large monster quests, Conn on the other hand was only 13 so he was starting to learn the basic hunting techniques with intensive weapons training. Eventually he would have to pick his main weapons. There were different classes of weapon and a hunter would have to pick one out of each class. The classes were- Guard, Non-Guard, Strength and gunner. Will and Conn lived in the city of Loc Lac close to the frontier. The Frontier was a true hunters dream. It was where the line between Wvyerian land and human land clashes. All the strongest monsters lived at the frontier. People from all over the land of Minegarde had heard stories of a legendary serpent which could control all other monsters, a beige sand whale the size of a mountain with tusks that could rip apart a dragon ship, the blue ocean leviathan the counter part of then land whale, the glittering black dragon one with unstable elements and the other feared, and finally a recently discovered leviathan with long tentacles, spikes and a beak mouth capable of crushing the hardest carpace. Will had once feared these monsters and thought the job as a hunter would be suicidal but he changed his mind after fighting his first large monster, a great jaggi similar to a raptor with frills spikes and sharp teeth. In a hunters eyes these were the baby steps to a long and rich career if you survived! The brothers father had passed away after going to the frontier. He had been injured by a Berokasyu vicious attack. His injuries where serious, he'd fractured both legs and one arm. He died when a Deviljho broke into the city and killed many people. The house their father was in was crushed and in the aftermath he was found dead in the house. Will was determined to pick up where he father left off, but this was not going to be an easy task. There were still many monsters to go before will would even be permitted to enter the frontier city. There was a rank system for every time a hunter or huntress completed a quest thy would be awarded with points depending on the events that happened in the quest. The bigger the monster or the more monsters that the person killed the more points they would earn and eventually go up in rank. Each city had a minimum hunter rank the hunter would have to reach before they entered (unless they were born in the city). The rank for the frontier city was hr31+. Will was currently on hr14 and was working hard to get to the city. He was working hard. One morning he got up and looked outside. There was a large sandstorm on. He walked out and went to one of the guild felenyes and asked why there was such a large sand storm. The felenye replied saying that the mountain dragon Jhen Moran was close to loc lac- in the sunhara desert to be exact. Will ran back inside and put on armor on as fast as possible then he ran to the local guild to check the hunter rank limit on the festival of fear quest. It was 0. Will was over the moon. He sat down for a drink when his friends Nemo, Kyle and Shyla appeared smiling. They all agreed to go the quest and so set off into the sun set on the dragon ship.
