A/N: So… I kind of want to go somewhere with this one but I'm not sure where (haha).

Disclaimer: I obviously don't own anything.

Lexie caught sight of Alex turning the corner ahead of her and stopped short. He looked up and noticed her hesitant wavering in the middle of the hall. She must know, he figured. After all they sat next to each other through the whole surgery. As he kept walking, she must have started collecting her courage because when he was within a few feet of her, she spoke.

"Why?" She stood up tall but moved in that Grey way she had.

"Why what?" He tried to act annoyed and trained his eyes on the stack of charts in his hands.

"Why did you sleep with me when you are clearly involved with someone else who knows nothing about it?" A little flushed, she started speaking a bit louder. She told herself she wasn't upset; she was just angry because of the way he was treating this other woman.

"Maybe we shouldn't be discussing this right now?" Not wanting to deal with it, he glanced around to emphasize where they were and the people who surrounded them.

"Yeah, maybe we should." She got a little closer to him and forced him to look her in the eyes.

"Listen… I warned you." Giving up, he dropped the façade of being in a rush and placed the folders on the counter of the nurses' station.

"That's right, you did. Did you warn her too? Or did you just warn me because of her?" As these words were leaving her mouth, Alex was barely paying attention. His eyes were caught by a flash of red and held as the whole form took shape coming down the hall. She was back? When did she get back? How long had she been in the hospital? Wrapped in a tight black skirt and blue top, underneath the white doctor's coat, she was the most beautiful thing he had seen since she walked out of the surgical room three months ago following their last successful c-section together. Her hair was down but part was held back in a clip that reminded him of their almost-kiss, which reminded him of their actual kiss. Remembering the way her mouth pressed against his of course led to thoughts of the on-call room and that amazing smell. Was he hallucinating or did her scent just envelope him again? Her stride was confident, even though he knew she must hate being back in this city, and she smiled softly at the Chief, who wanted nothing more than for her to come back to his hospital. Taking her eyes off of Chief Webber, Addison looked down the hall and met the stunned face of Alex. Both hearts quickened.

He had caught what Lexie was saying. "No, it was because of her."

Lexie turned around and saw the famous Doctor Montgomery. She had read about her in med school and had been dying to meet her when she was accepted to Seattle Grace. Her breath caught in her throat and choked her up a little because she was in awe of this woman. If anyone had asked her, Lexie probably would have admitted to having a bit of a girl crush on the good doctor. Wait, what had Alex said? She turned back but he was no longer there.
