The Beginning of the End
This story begins at Uplink Corporation, a company who specializes in hiring freelance hackers. The date is March 24, 2010, and a man called "Timer" was trying to get a job as a freelance hacker. Uplink Corporation accepted his job request and gave him a apartment, a computer, and 4000 dollars to get him started. He was going to be trained by one of the top hackers in the industry. Agent TooManySecrets, who Timer was going to be trained by, was number three in ranking among the top hackers in the world. Uplink Corporation wanted Agent Destroyer, the top hacker in the world, to train Timer but he was at Andromeda Research Corporation's Headquarters to work on a secret project.
On March 25,2010, Uplink Corporation started to power up their Test Machine to allow Timer to try and hack into it. Agent TooManySecrets told him what software was required to hack into servers. He also told him about bouncing connections off of other servers and to be careful of what jobs he takes. Some jobs will want him to hack into weak servers and others to hack into high security or government servers. Later that day, Timer felt he was ready to try to hack into the Test Server. On his first attempt, he successfully hacked into it. But, they had yet to learn about what was going to happen.
