A/N: It's really short, and probably not any good, but it's my first fanfiction, so bear with me ;).

Calypso is used to being alone. It was normal for people to leave her. That's what it has always been like. Heroes come and go. She can't pretend that it doesn't hurt, but it's inevitable. And if it had to be that way, she'd deal with it, somehow. She would move on with her life.

But now, standing at the edge of the surf, Calypso allowed herself a little hope.

She thought of the curly-haired, impish demigod who had foolishly made a promise that he couldn't possibly keep. Leo.

She remembered when all she had wanted was for Leo to leave Ogygia, no matter how lonely it got. She remembered the day he had first arrived, when she'd cursed the gods for sending him to her island. At that moment, she had thought that it was a sick joke, another cruel thing to add to the already long list.

Leo certainly had not seemed like a hero at first. He was too scrawny, too insufferable, too annoying. And when he couldn't leave the island, Calypso cursed the gods again.

She hadn't known that she would end up thanking them for the extra time she'd been granted with him. She hadn't known that she would end up wishing that he would come back. She hadn't known that she would end up falling in love with him.

She closed her eyes and let the tears fall. For once, she didn't wipe them away.

It was okay to want something to stay, she realized. Spending time with Leo had taught her that. Leo. She couldn't stop thinking about him, even though she knew that she should.

She should forget about him. He was already gone, after all, and nobody ever came back.

But Calypso had fallen in love with many heroes in her lifetime, and never once had she felt the way that she feels when she thinks of him. Leo was different. He would come back. It was impossible, but he would make it work, somehow.

And until then, she would be here, waiting for him, a different type of hero. Her hero.

A/N: Heh...heh...so... how about that ending, huh? Yes, I know, it was quite a horrible ending, but they'll get better, I promise! :)
