I do not own NCIS or its characters. The ideas are my own though :)
Enjoy!
"Tony, I need your help."
Ziva moved the phone from one ear to the other, hoping Tony wasn't busy. "What can I help you with Probie?" he asked.
She sighed, still tired of hearing him call her that, but she'd take what she could get. "I need you to come over and help me wire my new television and surround sound."
"Shouldn't you be calling McGee?"
She smiled. "I did, but he already had plans with his sister." Her lie was minor, but she would much rather spend the rest of the day with Tony instead of McGee, no offense to him. "If you do not want to help, I will understand."
"No, Ziva, I'll be over. Give me a few minutes." The line went dead and Ziva closed her phone, staring aimlessly at the large pile of black cords in the middle of her living room. Her new 42" high-definition flat-screen television sat on her black entertainment center, the speakers sitting on tables, chairs and the floor. She hadn't really wanted this large of a system, but the young man at the store was very convincing. However, she was now slightly regretting not asking the salesman for help.
It wasn't ten minutes later that Tony was walking through the front door, a pizza box in his hand. "I figured we might get hungry," he announced as he walked straight for the kitchen, taking off his jacket as well. "Ziva, that TV is huge."
"Do you think it's too big?" she asked, knowing she probably could have taken Tony shopping with her to get the correct items. "I wanted something smaller but the man at the store said this package was a better deal."
Tony continued to stare. "It's beautiful. How much did you pay for this?"
She laughed. "Tony, you just bought a new TV. You do not need another. Now can we please put these all together?"
Tony smiled as he moved closer to the pile of cords, Ziva standing next to him. "Where do we start?" He grabbed for an instructions manual and she grabbed a handful of cords, but neither matched.
"It's going to be a long night."
Four hours passed and there was one single cord left on the ground. Ziva slowly hooked one end into the main speakers and the other end in the television and Tony reached for the remote. Ziva took a step back and stood next to Tony, giving him a look that told him to press the power button. He pressed it and suddenly the entire living room was filled with the voice of Johnny Depp portraying Captain Jack Sparrow.
"Heeey, it works!"
Ziva smiled at him and rocked back and forth on her heels. "Did you doubt we could do it?"
He shook his head. "No, but I'm sure McGee would have done it faster. And would have programmed everything to one remote in the time it took us."
"Are you hungry?" Ziva asked as she walked out into the kitchen, grabbing plates as she watched Tony back himself up to the couch, sitting down, his eyes never moving from the flat screen. She smiled and grabbed the pizza box along with the plates and headed back out to the living room, putting the box on the small black coffee table sitting in front of Tony, where his feet were rested. "Here." She handed him a plate with a piece of pizza on it.
"Thanks," he said, looking at her with a smile on his face. They ate in silence, both watching the movie, until a commercial interrupted. "You know what this means don't you?"
She wasn't sure what to expect from him. She rarely ever had a hunch as to what he might say next. "What?"
He moved his head closer to hers and whispered in her ear. "You get to host the next team movie night."
She smiled at him. "I think I can handle that." And then she leaned across the open space and pressed a soft kiss on his lips, just as the movie returned to the screen.
