Oh hai everyone! Welcome to my first nonsense dribble for the poor folks over here at SGA. I just recently started watching this show but I was hooked after the first three episodes. This is just sort of a little piece I wrote for a friend of mine. It's nothing big but I hope you enjoy it. Yay for David Hewlett!
I don't own Stargate: Atlantis… And that could very well a good thing.

It was a simple question.
It certainly hadn't warranted their extreme reactions.
At least, he hadn't thought so.
But as soon as the words were out of McKay's mouth the entire room seemed to shift on its axis. The chair that Sheppard had been leaning backwards on came out from under him and the Air Force man was sent sprawling back into a surprise heap on the floor. Elizabeth, who had just been about to take a sip of her tea, gasped and ended up coughing into her metal mug as she tried to clear her airways of the hot Athosian liquid.
Beside him, Radek had just turned to leave the conference room but instead his head whipped around in shock causing the Chez to walk right into one of the Ancient doorways. Lorne and Ronon, whom had been standing next to the Lieutenant Colonel let their jaws drop as they stared at the Chief Scientist as if he had grown an extra head… and hey, it was Atlantis, with all the weird things they found around here it was possible… but no-
"What?" Rodney narrowed his eyes indignantly.
Teyla, bless her soul, had remained the most level headed, burying the shock she felt under years of a practiced calm. "Rodney, are you well?"
John sat up looking at his geek with wide eyes. "Did you just ask what I think you asked…"
McKay rolled his eyes shifting the data pad in his hands disappointment rising in him slightly. "You know what never mind." He turned to head out to the Control Room but a loud number of 'Wait!' and 'Hold on!' made him pause, he could have sworn he even heard a 'Freeze McKay!' coming from the pilot on the ground. Blue eyes glanced back over his shoulder to see Sheppard had shot to his feet and Elizabeth's hand outstretched towards him, beckoning him back into the room.
Clearing her throat the leader of Atlantis couldn't shake the smile that crept onto her face. 'Finally!' she thought to herself before adding aloud. "Yes, of course Rodney."
Rodney gave her a small smile. "Oh, cool, Well-ah, Thanks." He muttered before turning on his heel and walking away from his friends.
Who knew asking for a few days off would provoke such an odd reaction from them.
His team mates sure were weird.
