Disclaim: I do not own such wonderful story like One Piece.
Warning: Wrong spelling and bad grammar…but I tried my best.
He never asks Luffy.
Of what it feel likes…to lose one you love most in front of your eyes.
All the crews know well enough of the pain their captain has suffered. No need to bring such painful memories back…not now…and never.
Some of his nakama have already experienced in this…Nami and Bellemere, Chopper and Hilluk, Franky and Tom, Brook and his old crews, Ussop and his mother, Robin and her mother and the whole island, Zoro and the girl in his childhood…
The lost of someone you love, the pain…
Sanji never knew it. Not yet.
He and Zeff might have terrible past…but at least, Zeff's still alive. So he didn't know what it would be like, but he can imagine, the thought of losing the shitty old man is almost unbearable. But he knew if that day comes, he will definitely keep walking.
And so does Luffy.
Two years of separate…both he and Luffy got stronger. Strong enough to protect their nakama, strong enough so that they won't have to lose each other in the enemy's hand, never again.
The death of that man might pause Luffy on his journey, but will never stop Luffy from walking forward. Once you fall on your knee, later you will rise again and maybe this time you knew from your experience how to walk without making the same mistake.
Pain makes people stronger, memories support people to continue their life…
Luffy gonna be alright. The crews still here, ready to walk together with Luffy…not only Sanji, but all of them.
Together…they're going together until the end.
And so he never asks.
