Drabble – Creepy-Crawlies
The urge to scratch his head was driving Hephaestion crazy. The time and place was definitely not now though. He was standing next to Alexander in the receiving line. Before them was one of the area rulers that Alexander had just conquered. The man was nice enough and bowing to his new king.
Hephaestion was not having trouble with the man, the trouble was crawling through the mans hair.
A little bug was roaming around the shoulder length hair, in and out of the strands.
Hephaestion was getting goose bumps just watching it and the urge to itch his own scalp was making him want to scream.
He always tried to keep his own hair free of dirt and grim, grooming it often. In fact, Alexander liked to help by brushing it when they were alone. It was a secret pleasure that Alexander loved to do.
The little bug continued it's journey through the hair and Hephaestion tried to watch his face instead of the brown moving creepy crawler.
Finally released from his duties, Hephaestion ran to his room, washed his hair and raked his brush roughly through his long strands to rid his head of any invisible bugs.
