Desolate Israel
By: Carol Molliniere
A/N: Er…what have I to say on this one? It's just a random thing that I made in school while in CLE (or Religion Class, in case you Americans are wondering). Heh.
(CLE stands for "Christian Living Education".)
I just wrote this because A) I couldn't pay too much attention to the teacher, and B) I just had to keep my mind off "The Tale Of Healing" and "The Way I Loved You". If you find this weird and uninteresting, then fine; but remember it's been a while since I wrote a fanfiction with our dear Jesus/Joshua/Yeshuah as the star. (Though it's definitely amusing to write about Crona and Judas/Y'hudah – no wonder you guys like them so much.)
Disclaimer: The Bible does not belong to me. 'Cause if I did, then I'd screw up Heaven with the sin I may or may not carry of writing fanfiction. (Controversial Bible fanfics, to me, are like smoking; you know they're wrong, and yet you want to keep writing them. Though I don't smoke; like I said, I'm only 12.)
I'm guessing this is set somewhere between the time of the destruction of the Temple, and when the Muslims came to Israel.
There is a place called Jerusalem.
A place where the wind blows over the barren land. Barren, indeed, because of the destruction of the glorious Temple that used to crown this city.
Footsteps moved through said city. Yet, for some reason, they made no impress on the sand.
Who would dare walk through such an empty place?
One whose hands, feet, and side where pierced.
Indeed, it was the One who, years ago, had been crucified there on the Place of the Skull.
He wandered through the streets of the "Holy City"; the wind was the only thing there to greet Him.
He remembered it all. How the people had rejected Him as the true Messiah.
They had not been willing to believe.
And now they had brought this trouble upon themselves by rebelling against the Romans.
He finally reached the remains of the Temple. When they had destroyed it, nothing was left of it but the western wall.
He looked over the ruins, and then at the city. Soon, the city would be inhabited by another people who would dramatically change the way of life here.
But for now, the land would wait. Abandoned.
"Oh, Jerusalem," Jesus lamented. "I had warned you of your destruction…but you would not listen."
"Do you see all these things?… I tell you the truth, not one stone here would will be left on another; everyone will be thrown down."
~Matthew 24: 2, NIV
A/N: One thing I want to point out: I am not against Jews, nor am I against Muslims. I was just saying that the Muslims would live differently from the Jews. This is what I think would happen. If you think/know differently, fine. And the Jews Jesus is lamenting of are the hypocrites. Not necessarily all of them.
So…what did you think of that one? Review!
"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! Look, your house is left to you desolate. I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, 'Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.'"
~Luke 13: 34-35
