Athena looked outside Apollo's temple, arms folded. It was unbelievable. How had that happened to her? She was calmer now but only a bit. What she was feeling was a mix of anger, resent, impotence… fear…

"You should at least consider my offer," said Apollo, who had just entered the place. He had that expression, the one that made people feel as if they weren't good enough to deserve a Word from the majestic god of the sun. Athena was not intimidated because she wore that expression often. "You won´t survive two weeks without your powers in the Mortal world. I know what I'm saying."

"That's out of the question," she answered dryly. She wasn´t going to give Zeus the pleasure. After a very heated discussion, he had done the unthinkable and had thrown his favorite daughter out of Mount Olympus. Naturally, the other gods were shocked. What would happen to the world now? "I'm going to survive by myself. He will be forced to accept he is mistaken."

"It would be easier for you to stay here. You could pass as one of my prophetesses."

Athena glared at him. They both knew the job of the prophetesses wasn't just to prophesy.

"Or you could stay at Parnassus with the muses. I'll swap you with the Tuesday girl. No one will note the difference."

The Tuesday girl?

"You think all this is very funny, don't you?" she asked him. "Do you think I'm in the mood for those kinds of jokes, Phoebus?"

"Well, actually, Pallas, you're never in the mood for those kinds of jokes. But what do you want me to say? Seeing you hopeless, powerless and asking for my help is not an everyday sight. Even you wouldn't resist something like that, now would you?"

She looked outside again.

"I can't believe he did that to me," she said for the tenth time. "Urgh, I'm so pissed. You have no idea."

"Well, considering your luck, he will forget about it soon."

"Thanks."

"But not before you get kidnapped and sold as a slave to some sultan."

Even though she didn't want to admit it, it was quite possible. After all, she was just a normal woman with no superpowers to defend herself whatsoever.

"The real world is a harsh place for you," said Apollo. "It's just been two days and look at yourself."

"I assume you're talking about the stress and bad mood. Because otherwise, I look perfect."

"Yeah, your assumption is right."

"Well, I don't think have another choice for now. I'm not amused about this, you know."

"Oh, I know," Apollo answered with a grin.
