"Rosalie, shouldn't you be working?" L questioned you.
You looked up from your book. "Oh, yes, of course, I'll get right to it-"
L cut you off. "It's quite alright, Light. She's actually not here for the Kira case."
"Ryuzaki." You stated with a cold tone, trying to capture his attention.
"She's here-"
"Ryuzaki..." You warned.
"Because she is my fiancè"
"L!" You slammed your book shut. "I mean, uh, Ryuzaki... a word please." You said calmly, but even you could hear the rage in your voice.
You began to walk outside into the hall. Light looked at L with a questioning look, but L just shrugged.
Once you were in the hall, you forced yourself to keep your voice down.
"And what the hell was that?" You gave L a death glare.
"What?" L asked innocently. He seemed like he genuinely didn't understand why you were angry.
"I didn't know we decided to go public with the engagement..."
"I figured what better time than now."
"God, Lawliet! This is so embarrassing! What if we're treated differently? We could get into trouble. And then they'll ask questions and I-"
L silenced your rambling with a kiss. He pulled back. "I'm sorry."
Calmer now, you replied, "It's alright, Lawliet. I know I overreacted. I'm just so nervous and stressed but excited and-"
You felt his lips crash into your once again. This time longer. You didn't want to break away from him, but eventually he did.
You opened your eyes and sighed. "Okay. Thank you."
He pulled you into a tight hug. Your head against his firm chest, you could hear his melodic heartbeat.
"I love you, Rosalie." He whispered. All you could do was smile.
