Subtlety
Author's Notes: I haven't written a K+K poem in so long. ;-; This is is from Kaoru's POV, on everyone's favorite red-headed hitokiri-gone-rurouni.
The moment you walked through the door,
my life changed forever more.
I was so alone before you came,
and for you it was the same.
With you came so much more,
New friends, and enemies, galore.
You would always protect me,
Even if through gold you had to see.
You can deny it all you wish,
It won't be long before you ache for bliss.
You dearly loved your wife,
but you took her life.
Not on purpose, not for fun,
not to turn into a little pun.
You vowed never to kill again,
despite you who met and where you've been.
I love it all.
You catch me when I fall.
Ours is a love one so subtle
we don't need to publically cuddle.
I know it's me you love,
more than the shining stars above.
I love you more than life itself,
who cares if you bring me wealth?
That loving gaze,
it leaves me in a daze.
I only want to be with you,
and I know you want to be with me too.
