Chapter One: The Past
It's been awhile since the accident. The images just frighten me when it is brought up into my mind. Kenny had been wanting to teach me to drive for a long time, since he couldn't teach Duck to. It was like a human world again to him. Then I swerved. All I heard was Kenny warning me to watch out. He went through the windshield like a bullet that was fired from a gun. First thing I did was comprehend was just happened, then I made sure AJ was fine. He was better than ever, but I was scared, about Kenny, about if he was safe or not. I regained my confidence and went to make sure he was still alive. He wasn't moving, I shaked him enough for him to regain his consciousness. I asked if he was okay more times than I could count. "I'm fine, I'm fine," he said. "I just need some help up." Without hesitation I went to help. I reached my hand out for him to grab, and attempted to pull him up with all the strength in me. "Clem, I can't feel anything." I was trying to motivate him, so I said with a very nurturing voice,"No Kenny, it's just shock, you are going to be fine." I wish I was right that one time, I didn't want it to turn out like Lee. "No Clem, I don't think this is going to work out," He said with a cough. "I'm not letting you play this bullshit Kenny! Please just don't do this. Think about AJ," i said sobbing in an ocean of tears. "Leave me behind, and take AJ with you. I can't be a burden on me and you both. You have to go on without me." At that moment, I knew what was happening. He was completely paralyzed from the waist down. I heard growls and I turned back to see a walker peeking through the window looking straight at AJ. I took him down quickly and got AJ. I don't think I have ever ran that fast in my entire life. I couldn't turn back. I wouldn't turn back. All I heard was Kenny screaming while being eaten alive by walkers, unable to defend himself, and my own thoughts telling me to give up. But I couldn't. Because of Kenny.
