Interesting day this one. It's L's birthday and he was hiding in his room in Whammy House. Watori forced him to take the day off and gave L a stern look that said If you don't relax then you will be without sweets for a month. L did not want to be without sweets for a month, so here he was.
While playing solitaire on the computer L thought that he would not like being with the people in the house but he was proven wrong. The now three year old Near saw him come into the room and followed him. The similarity between them was large. L was not surprised when the pale boy sat near him and played with his toys.
The next one to enter L's room was a red head, Matt. When near gave him a questioning look Matt said "Mello is sick." Near nodded in agreement. L had to hide his smile.
Matt played Resident Evil, humming angrily whenever something didn't go right for him in the game, which wasn't ofter. Near would occasionally clash his toys together.
To think, the best company L has had in these last months consists of toddlers.
The time they spent was mostly silent and L liked this. Near eventually put down his toys and crawled over to Matt. Matt paused his game and waited. Near placed himself in Matt's lap and Matt restarted the game. Near would help Matt along when he needed it while playing with his hair.
When the lunch bell rung the boys got up Near grabbed his hand and Matt took his computer. L was curious as to what they wanted and so he let Near lead him to the lunch room.
Most people didn't know that the black haired teen was L so they would glance them over curiously. It probably wasn't often that Near and Matt would bring a random person to lunch. They all sat at the same circular table that was meant for two people at most. L again was not surprised by Near when he sat in his lap while Matt sat across from them humming happily, he had obviously just won another level.
Near had grabbed a lunch of 2 slices pizza, a piece of cake and milk. Near took out a spoon put it in the cake and gave the cake to L. Matt wasn't eating anything, which was defiantly not healthy for the 5 year old. L was pleased that Near gave Matt the first piece of pizza.
L ate the cake contently and played with Nears hair. None of the three noticed Roger taking pictures. They only found out about the pictures when they were sent to them on the annual 'family day' at the orphanage.
What an interesting day this birthday, thought L contently. Very interesting day.
