No Greater Gift
Caroline Forbes Mikaelson watched as the most powerful being on earth, her husband, cradled their newborn son in his loving arms. Since Caleb Henrik Mikaelson's birth on Christmas day his father had yet to let him out of his sight. Oh, but Caroline didn't blame Klaus at all. She could hardly keep them both out of her sights for long either.
"How are you feeling love?" She smiled at his inquiry and when she was close enough she wrapped an arm around his shoulder and kissed his cheek to reassure him. During the pregnancy Klaus had never wavered, but there had been a moment through the labor that complications arose with too much bleeding. Luckily Caroline and Caleb came through with flying colors and without Klaus shedding any blood.
"I'm still a little sore and tired, but I missed you both." Klaus stood up holding Caleb in one arm then extending the other to Caroline. He led them back through the connecting door to their bedroom from the nursery.
"Lie down love." Caroline did as asked and Klaus placed Caleb next to his mother's side. He shed his robe leaving him in his silk pajama bottoms then climbed into bed right next Caroline. He embraced her lightly from behind and kissed her shoulder lovingly.
"A thousand years I have roamed and never known such love as your's Caroline. Thank you for daring to get to know me and let me into your heart. You made me not want to give up on what I felt for you and now we have eternity, but most of all I have no greater gift then this life we've created as a family." Caroline had happy tears in her eyes as she looked over to Klaus.
"You are my last love."
A/N So there you have it. I wanted to write something with Klaroline for Christmas and this is what I came up with. I hope you enjoy reading.
