So yea, I just got really emo, and thought it'd be a great time to write something depressing. You're welcome.

How is it like to be a Mutant you wonder? Of course it's awesome, you get powers normal people don't, do amazing feats you've ever imagined. You're literally the next stage in human evolution!

Well, if only things were that simple.

It is said that the emotion, anger, came about during the evolution of life, when someone else has an unfair advantage compared to you.

Imagine yourself back in pre-school again. Your teacher gives an open quiz, whoever in your class can raise their hands first and answer the question, gets a lollipop. Your hands were always up in every question and you're absolutely sure your hand was raised before everyone else's was. Yet your teacher refuses to pick you for whatever reason he/she had.

Without a doubt, you'll get angry. Angry at the teacher, angry at your classmates.

Why, you wonder again, I brought up this random story. Well, because that's how things really are.

How would you react, if someone could run faster than you, think clearer than you, fight better than you, all without undergoing any sort of training. That those people were simply born with all those advantages.

How would you feel?

Angry, angry at them, angry at life, even angry at yourself. But, of course, you can't vent out your anger on something beyond your control, like life. And you can't do that to yourself too, because after all, you were just born normal.

Which leaves the option of venting out the anger of unfairness towards mutants. Towards us.

Beyond the walls of safety, beyond the gates of Xavier's school for gifted youngsters, we get looks of distaste, unfair treatment, and discriminations of all sorts. But this is only fair right? After all it is our fault we were born like this.

So, to survive, we were forced to establish ourselves into society by whatever means possible. Some tried to be diplomatic, Some opt for the quick solution of domination.

To dominate, to make use of their gifts, and ensure the survival of all mutants by eliminating the other. Due to that, all mutants were considered terrorist and a threat to mankind, even the diplomatic.

With that, every day we fear. Fear of our own safety, fear that any day could be the last time we saw our loved ones. Some were captured, some slayed on the spot, while some just left us all with a final note.

If society is able to ignore the acts of extremist and separate them from actual religion, then why can't they do the same for us? Just because some of us took the wrong path, doesn't mean we all did too! Why can't they do that? Why?

We were born like this, we couldn't choose our birthright! So why do people hate us? What have we done to them?

Why can't society just see mutants as a gift to mankind, why can't everyone see past their selfish thoughts and think for mankind as a whole and all the things deemed impossible that can achieved when both humans and mutants work together?

Who am I kidding, take mutants out of the picture and the world would remain the same. Chaotic.

As every human being will be looking out for themselves instead of looking after mankind as a whole.

Just because someone was born with more melanin in their skin than the other. They'll be discriminated. Just because someone had a different view of life than the other. They'll also be discriminated.

Even these mere differences separate mankind. What hope do we mutants have?
