It had been a long time. Way too long- or so a certain Ronin Warrior speculated. He needed a battle; he wanted a battle. For a battle would prove everything was alright.
He was waiting for a battle that he knew would never exist. The Dynasty had retreated into the darkness once again, but he knew it wasn't all over. Evil from the Dynasty would appear in the future to destroy again. Destroy the future and maybe even his own legacy?
He couldn't let that happen. Oh, but on the contrary, what could he do? Storm the evil Dynasty? No, he knew much better. Many a time he had learned that, alone, he was inferior to the Dynasty.
The lone warrior sighed deeply. He fully understood there was nothing in his physical power he could do; but maybe he could change the odds. . .
His only options were to remain silent and continue the heritage of the armor while making warriors of his posterity; or he could forever hide the armor orb. It was a logical option. How could they capture what they can't find. His mind wouldn't allow that. He knew that the Dynasty would somehow find the armor orb and that if they didn't-by some lucky chance- that this option would ensure the death of the future.
Could he consider either of these options, even if they envolved endangering those he loved?
Sighing, he felt in his trouser pocket for the marble-like armor orb. Such a small object had thrown them into this grueling war, and now it became his every thought.
"Kento? Hey, Kento, are you out here?" A voice called out. Kento Rei Faun turned and gripped the armor orb tighter at the sound of his name.
A moment later, his best friend and fellow warrior, Cye Mouri found his way over to Kento.
"Hey Cye."
"Hey." Cye looked around. "So, whatcha doing up here?" The younger warrior motioned to the small grass-covered hill they were standing on.
"Just thinking." Kento replied solemnly.
Cye nodded, seeing he had caught his friend at a serious moment. The Warrior of Torrent knew what to say though. " We were getting worried about you. Especially since you didn't show up for supper." Cye quickly grinned. " I'll head back and fix you a plate, okay?" Kento nodded.
"Alright. I'll be there in a minute." Cye turned and retreated.
"Hmm. . ." Kento released his grip on the silver armor orb. It fell gently back into his pocket. "I guess that's that." He said into the night. With a semi-smirk, Kento of Hardrock turned and walked toward the Koji home.
High above him the sole hill the warriors had been on, a star twinkled then faded out completely.
