Yay! This is the first chapter of Dead Man's chest in Elizabeth's point of view! I hope you like it!
I stared at the flowers in my hands, while being completely drenched in the rain. On this dreary day, I am in the most beautiful dress I could imagine. I am kneeling on the dirty ground with flowers in my hands, in the pouring rain, dealing with my inner depression.
Today is my wedding day.
The most blissful day of my life is going completely wrong. I lifted my head up, as the sound of shackles is heard. I dropped my withered flowers and ran towards the sound to see Will being arrested. "Will…"
I whispered, right next to him now.
"Why is this happening?!"
"I don't know…" We paused, then he looked at me.
"You look beautiful."
I smiled. "I think it's bad luck for the groom to see the bride before the wedding." I said and wept once more. I heard my father shoving through the crowd.
"How dare you…" He said to the man in the cape who seemed to be in charge.
"Stand your men down at once! Do you hear me?!" My father yelled and ordered. The mysterious figured turned around and took off his cape, revealing his true identity. Father gaped.
"Cutler Beckett?" He confirmed this man's name.
"It's lord now, actually." Beckett, as he was called, replied. My father was released from the grasp of the guards' swords.
"Lord or not…you have no reason and no authority to arrest this man." He gestured towards my fiancée.
"In fact I do. Mr. Mercer!" Beckett called for his assistant, who handed him a piece of paper.
"The warrant for the arrest for one William Turner." He explained, handing the letter to my father, who looked at it strangely. He hesitated before continuing.
"This warrant is for Elizabeth Swann…" he said. What could I possibly be arrested for?! That can't be correct!
"Oh is it? That's annoying. My mistake, arrest her." Beckett gave the orders, and two guards went after me. "On what charges?!" I exclaimed as Will tried to help me.
"And I have another one, for Mr. James Norrington. Is he present?" This spiteful man said, holding up another warrant.
"What are the charges?!" I kept my case, but it was once ignored by an interruption from my father.
"Commodore Norrington resigned several months ago." Beckett looked disappointed by his statement. He turned to face my father.
"I don't believe that's the answer to the question I asked." Will screamed at him.
"Lord Beckett! In the category of questions not answered…" I took this as my 'opportune moment' as Jack would call it, wait, that's it! Jack!
"We are under the jurisdiction of Port Royal, and you will tell us what we are charged with." I threatened anyway, for Will didn't know the answer that I already knew. My father read off the warrant.
"The charge…is conspiring to set free a man convicted of crimes against the crowned empire, and condemned to death. For which the…" he gaped at the letter. What? What is it?
Beckett continued for him. "For which the punishment, regrettably, is also death." This is bad…this is really bad…
Beckett walked up to us. "Perhaps you remember a certain pirate named Jack Sparrow."
"CAPTAIN!" Both me and Will yelled as a complete and utter reaction. I continued.
"Captain Jack Sparrow."
Beckett smiled. "Captain Jack Sparrow. Yes I thought you might."
We were put into prison, after that whole scene, and processing in my head that I am being put here because of Jack.
Bloody pirates!
