Ronnie Anne prided herself in not being the clingy, jealous type. She knew in her heart that Lincoln had eyes only for her and that nothing in the world could change that. Five years of romantic outings and cheesy serenades proved that if there was any truth that she would bet her life on, without the slightest hesitation, it was that Lincoln Loud loved her dearly. Even if something else kept his undivided attention away from her, like family, studying, or Clyde, she didn't fret. She was one of the most important things in Lincoln's life and nothing could keep her from thinking that.
Well…maybe one thing could, at least temporarily.
She knew it couldn't be helped. He loved his Ace Savvy comic books ever since she knew him and that was for only about five years. Who knew how long he had been attached to them?
Long enough, apparently, to insist that while he read new issues of them in his room, that no one bothered him unless it was an emergency. This policy went for his five younger sisters, his best friend Clyde…
…and even her. Her! His girlfriend of all people!
To anyone who would object to her claims against harboring petty insecurity, Ronnie Anne would declare that again, she was definitely not the clingy, jealous type and if they insisted on being stupid enough to disagree, she'd punch them in the face.
She wasn't above giving Lincoln space when he wanted it and was glad that he respected her enough to give her the same courtesy.
But were the thrilling, action-packed adventures of Ace Savvy so sacred to him, that he'd find the very thought of her penetrating through his wall of self-isolation, to interact with him, vexing? Disgusting? Ronnie Anne liked to believe the contrary but she wouldn't dare cross that line if it meant that Lincoln wouldn't snap at her for deliberately breaking his policy.
However, thanks in part to Lincoln himself, that laissez-faire attitude was one that she was going to change today.
Since it was a Friday, and she wouldn't have to worry about school for a little while, Ronnie Anne wanted to kick off her Friday afternoon on the right foot by inviting Lincoln to a recreational center that had opened about a month ago. One of their most popular attractions was indoor rock climbing and it was something that they both wanted to do ever since they saw the rec center's grand opening commercial on TV.
When she texted him about her plans, after settling herself into her bed after a hard day at school, she looked at the cellphone touchscreen in dismay as Lincoln's returning text stated that while he would love to go with her, he had just purchased the entire collection of Ace Savvy comics that featured him fighting his newest adversary, The Purple Purloiner. That collection, he informed her, was about thirteen issues long and he intended on reading it as soon as possible.
Ronnie Anne groaned and tossed her cellphone on her pillow. Lincoln didn't need to tell her anything more than that. Knowing his comic reading habits, she knew that for Lincoln, it'd take at least half an hour for him to read a new comic book in its entirety. He liked to absorb everything he could, taking in the spectacle and mystery as it dragged out. With thirteen comics, that would be at least six and a half hours of non-stop reading. That rec center closed at nine o'clock and with the current time being a quarter past three, there was no way he'd be able to read all those comics at his own pace and have enough time to spend the day with her.
Despite knowing better, anger and hurt began to bubble inside of Ronnie Anne as she read between the lines of the situation and didn't care for the implications presented to her.
Was she really not worth his time? Did the thought of departing from those dumb comic books, to spend quality time with her, make him feel uneasy? Couldn't he make an exception this one time?
And more importantly than that, was she going to let the matter dwell further without taking action herself? It took less than a millisecond for her to have the answer: absolutely not. Ronnie Anne may not have been the clingy, jealous type but she was the "setting the record straight" type and that was exactly what she was going to do.
Ronnie Anne sprung up from her bed, aiming to march over to the Loud residence and give a certain white haired adolescent a piece of her mind. Oh, she'd let him read his comic books but he was going to have to get used to her company while he did so.
She chuckled to herself once she left her house, closing the front door behind her. Ronnie Anne could be very persuasive whenever she wanted to be. All she needed was a threat or a hard glare to get most people to acquiesce to her demands but with Lincoln, she wouldn't use any of that nor would she rely on her fists.
No, for this particular matter, she wouldn't use violence but she'd confront him physically. Very physically. And by the time she finished having her way with him, Lincoln Loud would be begging for her to stick around.
A/N: I hope you all had a Merry Christmas or whatever holiday you celebrate around this time of year. I got a lot of coal from Santa this year, unfortunately. I think it had something to do with blinding his eyes from how terrible the last chapter of "Soil & Trouble" was.
Oh look, another planned two-shot from yours truly. So, you may ask, what's the difference between this uncompleted two-shot and the other one I posted a couple days ago? Well, unlike that one, I plan on finishing this one pretty soon. I mean, it's Ronniecoln, for crying out loud! Who doesn't like Ronniecoln?
*cue Lynncoln shippers and the majority of tlbooru raising their hands*
Oh yeah. True that. :/
