Chapter 1: Old Route 17
June 28, 1970
On the isolated road Travis county Texas, The Curtis family are Driving north moving From San Antonio, Texas to Daytona Florida. Driving in separate Vehicles Ben and Alison Curtis are in the 1966 ford pickup truck, filled with moving boxes in the back and a sofa wrapped with rope. Following not to far behind in a Station wagon is Ben's two Teenage kids from a previous marriage Terri and Jake Curtis. The sun beats down on the dry lands of Route 17. They past pastures of cattle and long grass as the Venture to their future home.
Ben Curtis is 39 year old father of two. (With striking features, light brown hair and light blue eyes) Is dressed in a red flannel shirt with Blue jeans and snake skin cowboy boots. He drives the truck leading the way with his newly married Wife Alison at his side. (Alison is in her early thirties she is very attractive has wavy Amber hair and brown eyes.) Wearing a beige halter top and a long light brown skirt with beaded lace on the skirts trim. The Radio plays the rolling stones hit song "Gimme Shelter".
Alison looks in her compact applying her lipstick carefully on her mouth. She hums the beat of the music to herself delicately spread over the lipstick on her mouth. As Ben drives they come to a bump in the road. Ben hits it an Alison's hand jerks making it smear on her face. "Uh! Baby you messed me up." Alison groaned.
Ben looks to see the make up malfunction he caused Alison. He looks at her chuckling lightly. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry." Alison opens the glove compartment pulling out a paper napkin. She wipes off the blotched lipstick from her face. She looks in the rear view mirror Back At Ben's Daughters Station wagon following behind the truck. "You think they're okay back there?" Alison asked Ben.
